I wonder... The roo that I had once, Ijak and Buffy's son, (Dom X BO) had very dark brown barring with white and black barring on his neck and golden wings... very interesting.

Barring from papa (black and white), golden color from mama, speculation: black ground color mixed with buff ground color makes chestnut or chocolate, barring overlay...being a roo brings brighter colors along back / wings for attracting ladies?

It would have to be one of the gre ladies then, but they both have beards and muffs and she has none!

I'm almost positive Whiskey's father was Maizie and Pippa's father also, so had beard and muffs. The girls have them, Whiskey doesn't.

Thing 2 had crest, beard, muffs. Her daughters have partial crest and NO beard or muffs.

Unlike a crest, partial beard/muffs don't seem to happen very often. Probably on different genetic loci.

Dom white is hard to work with because it can hide soooooo much....

Recessive white....shows everything...I think...

No. Barred male: all babies barred.

Barred female: sexlink, Barred males, BLACK females.

Blue? The edges of her feathers seem dark edged

Whiskers
Also blue with some dark edges feathers, her head feathers are red mixed.

Little Grey
Is much lighter with a darker head and neck, and her feathers are more dark edged, would she be lavender?

I am serious. That is how it works. She has genes for black feathers and genes that suppress the color.

Look at you explaining chicken genetics. Just a few months ago Hattie was just a pretty chicken to you.

Impressive.
