It is truly wonderful when they pick you out as a friend.Better he's good w/ the hens than w/you! Steal one of his hens to cuddle. Remember, we don't choose a chicken ~ it chooses YOU.
I picked Dana as my favorite Dom chick, nursed her thru pasty butt, spent time handling her but my DH is her human! To my surprise Dana's sister Jewlz picked me as HER human! Just never know w/ these birds?
Dana ~ she only allows DH to hold her and she voluntarily hops into his lap.

Jewlz would pick me to hop onto my knee to say "hello" ~ I was her human

That's a very pretty chicken. She does kind of look like my Liara as a baby...

She is a prarie bluebell egger, best I can tell from the hatchery website. But she has no comb even as a hen. And lays baby blue eggs with white speckles...hmm

She definitely acts like a leghorn though, always very flighty and holds her tail up high.
Thanks!Those are great!
I hope it all goes well!Integration day
Oh my heart. I set out extra feeding stations and the flock block for the big ones...but my poor heart. I'll go check on them in a bit.

The wedge in the brooder will let chicks in and out but not adult birds.View attachment 3912337View attachment 3912338

He’s his own roo that’s for sure. Different than any other roo I have had. He's indicating his own personality. How different is he from BEN and BLU?
Cocaine bear comes to mind.Corn and grits. Peas and such.
I was giving Grandma grains (from Cluck and Co at TSC check them out) and she was enjoying them until the twins arrived. Oi, the twins! They seem to like the grains just as much as the dried mealworms. They ran immediately to the cup and wanted to eat. I tried to give Grandma space, but in the end, I gave them some and eventually showed Grandma the empty cup. She was able to have more grains. Funny thing is, when they eat the grains, they end up with powder on their face.
