Since it was from a private breeder, so it wouldn't be either a 'Whiting True Blue' nor a Whiting True green' as those are proprietary breeds. (McMurray lines)

We would need to see what lines/breeds the private breeder has, and then see who got into who's pen!

I posted the other breeds the breeder had. I could do that again if needed.

Well, I am now 95% sure who the daddy is to Georgie's 'chicks (7 of the 8 she hatched)

Look at this barred girl:

See how she has just a smidge of a head tuft?

I suspected this guy as the Daddy

due to the large amounts of white barring on the boys ( Usually because of 2 barring genes - which means daddy was probably barred)

But, the small tuft on the girl that I saw today (see Daddy's below?) sealed the suspicion.

He is a 'Lakeshore Egger' I beleive a mix of cuckoo Marans and assorted other breeds to make a blue to light green to medium green egg layer.

The batch he came from, he was barred and there was a black & white barred girl, the rest were not barred at all. All are a slighter build than marans, though.

And, two little boys - one on the move.

Well, but it also changed - I thought that that was what they had 'available', not necessarily all breeds they owned.

The list you had did not seem to, in any way, make an 'Aster'

That is correct. I could pull in those from the polish breeder in case I was wrong and she came from a white egg somehow. But none of those could also make a chicken that looks like her as well.

They seem VERY confused by the linoleum. It is quite slick. They flap and the litter goes flying. I do think we may add a poop board under the roosts. I read somewhere on here one person say they didn't use shavings at all with linoleum and poop boards. They just sweep up as needed.

Thoughts?

I would still use some shavings. If they poop at night and it dried there - it is like cement (especially cecal poops), so having a layer of bedding prevents that - plus it gives them something to scratch in, which is a very natural activity/pastime for them!

She is unique and very pretty.
The breeder I got Sylvie from was mystified how she came about, and I adore her!

Did you get the coarse kind of shavings? I can’t see that flying around. TSC have two types. I try to get the coarse kind.

I would still use some shavings. If they poop at night and it dried there - it is like cement (especially cecal poops), so having a layer of bedding prevents that - plus it gives them something to scratch in, which is a very natural activity/pastime for them!

They only sell this at my local feed store.

They're busy busy scratching in it. But it's very fluffy.

They also aren't wild about the nest boxes. Keep going in, but no eggs today. I assume the general stress and weirdness of the move would cause that.
