Me too! Can’t wait to see it!
It's so hard, every time you realize all over again... It's like heartbreak after heartbreak. But it will ease with time. For now take all the time you need to grieve and adjust. I still tear up when I think about your loss. I can only imagine how hard it is for you. We're here for youI'm...kind of here. Thanks for all the sympathy, it's been devastating. Had a good long cry today because I got up, got my boots on, and was to the gate before my brain caught up to me that there's nobody to get up.
I think I'm most upset about losing Nyx. She had just started crouching for the boys, they still had no clue what to do about it but she was ready.
Hubby is telling me that I will have new birds in spring, he had already arranged hatching eggs for kiddo's birthday last week before everything happened.
We will clean, and disinfect, and replace the dirt, and put in anti-dig barriers...there's plenty to do now that it's empty.
I'm glad you're treating her.I have a mechanical splitter - still it too is satisfying. But I do know how to split wood the old fashioned way. It’s all about technique and a bit of good aim. Also having dry wood helps.
Splitting hairs tax
I think her swelling is down a bit from yesterday - it was moving over her eye, and that seems reduced today.
I’ll take daily photos now so I can see for sure.
Left side still good

Is there a joke in here I'm missing? I'm tired tonight.Must be a distant relative of Enzo!!
Well that was a treat! It's Monday and I have some mugs for you.
The only mug earning her keep right now is Judy. I am hoarding every precious egg from her for Thanksgiving baking. As of this morning I finally have exactly 1 dozen. I know it is just a matter of time before I loose her eggs. All her hatch mates have stopped and are molting. Please girl, hang on for just 1 more week, just 1 more week.

And now the rest of the freeloaders, oh and the teenagers.

She continues to eat and do chicken-ey things.
I have to say I am thrilled that this seems to be going ok.
It's not like he's a hen that's supposed to lay blue eggs and instead lays beige eggs.I love my little George and he is perfect.
Seriously though, it is photo's like this that make me go outside and yell at him "WHY?" Your grandma and mother are frizzles. Why George, Why?
Again, he is perfect in every way. He can fly, no special care to keep him warm. Just.......every now and then Why?
She is pretty - love the feather pattern (which might be called lacing but I have forgotten what @rural mouse taught me already).Forget tomorrow. I took my headlamp out and got some pictures. Her voice is changing and she sounds like a goose so she is young. What do you all think, Brahma or Cochin? She has to be between 4 to 5 months as their is no sound of a chick peep so she is not a large fowl.
Also, excuse the coop, clean out day is tomorrow.
