As long as he does not develop a affection for my hand or shoe we are good. Honestly though, I am mommy and I shall enjoy and revel in his attention for a bit longer. Sigh, it is going to happen soon. He is going to realize what the girls are, and what he is. My boy is going to drop me like a hat. My baby boy is growing up.
:hugs :hugs :hugs

Now I can ski, actually quite well
I can ski (or rather used to) but don’t anymore. Too dangerous for these old bones.

When I worked at Mnt St Louis they kept trying to get me back skiing but it wouldn’t have looked very good if their H&S / HR manager broke a leg skiing 😁. I did walk the resort daily though on my safety walks. And I would ride the chair lifts up to do inspections etc. once I even rode it back down! Not protocol but I needed to get back down for a meeting.

It was a great spot to work but the pay sucked so I moved on.

Now I am rocking it as a Chicken Mama

Need the Vit D though to help the Calcium to be absorbed and utilized properly by the body.
The calcium I have that I take and would be on hand if a chicken needs is Calcium +D. I have bought it either at Walmart or on Amazon, 600 mg is what my bottle says. If I had an egg-bound chicken, I'd give her one of those.

Oh there is a Randy update I have been meaning to post but have forgotten to.

As you all are aware from the moment he decided to adopt my flock he has chosen to sleep in Momma Hens tree. I am pleased to report that finally for the last 2 weeks Randy has abandoned the tree. He now Roosts on the big roost right beside Raven. He has gotten very comfortable with me walking around and under him on the roost and me talking to him while he is up on it. If the need arose I do think I could take him off the roost successfully now. I still have not attempted it. I do not want to scare him back to the tree. With winter now here and freezing temps I do not want him unprotected from the elements. I am making progress with him. Slow painful progress, but progress none-the-less. Last night Raven and Siri decided to have a go at each other on the roost. Poor Randy was caught in the middle and he was knocked down. He trusted me enough to get close. I did not attempt to pick him up and put him on the roost, I could tell he was not ready for that and ready to bolt towards the hill. Instead I used my head lamp and shined a light onto the top of Russ's stall board. He is smart and used it to fly up to it. I then shone the light onto his spot on the roost and he was back up in a instant. He also gave a very well deserving peck to Raven who was in a mood. He also pecked at Siri until she moved about a foot away from them which seemed to make Raven happy.

Good boy Randy. We will become friends eventually.

You did a good thing taking him in and he is rewarding you for it. A win win. :thumbsup

Can’t believe how hard it is to find chicken stuff sometimes!

I ordered the Chick’n Swell stuff - also today I gave Marty, and Flopsy some chunks of bread with my Vit D drops. I had one for old Ref d but that crazy wild chook Jaffarra grabbed it out of my hands 😁. The drops are 1,000 IU so hopefully It wi help them until the other stuff arrives.

Ok all have a lovely evening - good night.

Well, Ortho dr ofc finally got around to getting ins approval for arm 🦾 surgery. Hey, my humerus has only been broken 8 months! But I have a bevvy of Dec tests, Xrays, labwork, & ekg to pass before actual surgery in Jan. Or what? They cancel surgery if I don't pass??

DH will be going back-&-forth between home & hospital to watch me & the hens. He's already been off work caring for me/chickens since May. This is really exercising the meaning of vows in action "for better or worse".

Prayers 🙏 will be much appreciated 🤗.
8 months? Oh you poor dear! I'm so sorry!

I think they run everyone through those tests so that you don't show up in surgery sick or with heart palpations or something odd. At least those I know of had to.

I wish you the best, and said a prayer too. ❤️
