Even though @Desertvalleychickens is trying to confuse me with 2fer Tuesday pictures (), I know that today is Friday. And here is a Fluffy Butt to prove it.

That is Tassels with a fully fluffy butt. It is the only fluff to be found at the Chicken Palace (unless you count the heaps of fluff and feathers on the floor).
See how tiny Calypso looks compared to Tassels. Normally I cannot tell them apart by size.

Poor Calypso really isn’t properly dressed at all!

I'm in agreement too & according to the poultry plants list:Info on composting Rhododendron leaves
This scholarly paper/abstract is based on humans, but is in line with what I have read in general about toxicity in animals, too.
So, what I have gotten from this (my personal opinion!) is that while it probably wouldn't be a problem in a decent sized yard with one or two rhodies around when chickens are free ranging, I would not put it in a chicken run where they would regularly peck and scratch the soil around/under it with partially decomposed leaves. I think there are other evergreen plants that would be better suited for a chicken run such as juniper (can get them in a variety of sizes/shapes - creeping to tall tree-like) and arborvitae, or small pines. Again, that is actively planting - and my opinion only.
I have 4 songs I sing to the chickens.Morning: as I'm walking up to the run/coop I say "Good moooorniiing! Are we ready to have a good daaay?!" and then as I'm letting them out of the coop I tell them "go get your breakfast!"
Evening: I do a little sleepy chicken chatter with them first (soft "brbrbrbr"s). After they're all up on their roosts, as I'm closing up the coop and run, I say "goodnight, stay warm, sleep tight, don't let anything bite!"
What a wonderful idea! I would buy it.The book I should have written about all of them. May princess and I will write it together![]()

Tonight when I got home from work I fixed up the drafts in the Hen Houses, I was going to do that tomorrow anyways, but it is so windy the drafts were very cold. I esp worry about the ones moulting and Mr & Mrs LC.I hope so. We have an arctic blast coming next week which I am worried about.
