Yep that’s chilly!

But I know what -43C is (thinking that is the same in F), and let me tell you, I was not impressed!

If it was ever that cold here I would have to put real supplemental heat on the hen house.

Tonight I moved Mrs LC into the Feedroom/Office she was being pecked by everyone not letting her roost anywhere. I am going to be keeping her in there anyways during this cold snap coming this way.
-40 is the same on both scales. But....anything colder than about -10F is just COLD! Hunker down and attempt to stay warm COLD.

Mrs LC is all snuggled up on my office chair in the feedroom, I put my egg apron and a couple of wooly mitts on the seat for her to roost on. She was all comfy and snoozing there when I did chores. Might just let her roost there for the rest of the winter. She can join Red, and Georgie and her twins.

Seems the chooks have taken over the whole downstairs of the barn now!
They'll take the hay loft yet!

I took Mr Wyandottey to town with me today, and left the others to free range the yard. But upon my return, I found Coco missing! :idunno :hit I hope she turns up by roosting time. :fl I only thought she should have some time alone in the yard. Not stuck in the house for a lifetime.
Good morning Alex. It's 3.30am here and only just read about CoCo wandering off. Has she hidden herself somewhere? I hope everything is alright
