Mine will not eat Tent Caterpillars. The one time Fluffy tried one she spat it out fast! And now no one will eat them. If you have a burn pit you can throw on that.
Oh interesting. They are predated by wild birds so aren’t toxic to birds. I did check before sawing the branch. I guess they don’t taste good.

The weather has been all over the place! Just a little over a week ago it was snowing and now I'm wearing a tank top and its 26 degrees C. Chickens and cats both despise it.
It’s freezing here! Ok well not freezing but it’s not warm. It’s 10c (50f) but the north wind is brisk and makes it feel much more chilly. This is a very chilly Spring, the trees are just starting the leaf out, and the gras has started to grow finally.

……Ow! Sorry people need to throttle a silkie - she pecked me in the mouth the brat! She hopped up here and assaulted me!

And another that thinks I am a comfy roosting location.

I think we had a discussion here on them a couple yrs ago and some posted that wild birds don’t eat them…

I have some very bad chooks. Three of my littles started fighting.
Must be that game bird blood in them, and some now on me!
What started out as a small scrimmage escalated into bloodshed and I had to settle it down for fear of further injury.
I won’t tolerate this kind of behavior with any chook. It seems like they were just blowing off some steam. They are all in a snuggle pile now. I guess fighting makes them tired 🥱
Fighting never made me feel tired, but losing a fight was unacceptable to me. Maybe they think the same way about it?. :idunno
My male chicks would scrap all the time the brats! I left them to it, unless they all ganged up on one. Seems boys will be boys.

Rules to live by, never feed your chickens anything that you wouldn’t eat yourself (or try yourself) so maybe try one of those caterpillars first? :old :idunno
