Oh my sweet little Poppy. 1/2 of the duo that started it all for me. I agree @RoyalChick chick needs a feather duster of this variety. Not for the reason you stated but she still needs one. I have 4 little fluffy feather dusters in the making, or fuzzy britches however you want to describe them. If one of them is a boy, well, someone needs to have a road trip and swing by my house. They can then drop him off at Royal Chicks place. We will kill 2 birds with one stone so to speak. She can have both a rooster and a feather duster all in one pre-spoiled friendly little nugget.

I really had work this time, but I got 2 of my three Xtra Cockerels a home this morning. They will have their own flock and were very much wanted. The family drove 2hrs to come get them.

I have been pondering how to reduce the Marek’s load by bringing Tassels into the house or garage into a clean environment.
Of course she herself will probably bring infected dust with her but the load would be less maybe than the coop where everyone lives.
As others have suggested, I could also make some attempt to clean Tassels herself. Not so sure about that. Maybe dust her with a microfiber cloth or something.

Mini vacuum? Like they make for keyboards?

Well, there is absolutely nothing wrong with a Black Copper Marans. Hen or Rooster. Big, beautiful, black and in my experience steady calm temperaments. Lets not forget feathered feet to die for and as Tassels has shown thanks to her maran lineage Broody for days.

Speckled hens, I can speak from the suspect aspect. Eye candy, they are stunning. Mine are nosey busybodies who want to be all up in your business. If you are outside they are right there, watching you. When they want attention mine let me know, by pecking my legs or hands. They do not want to be held or carried, but when the mood strikes them they enjoy to be petted. And you will pet them when they want or beware of those beaks. Those Jubilees are also spectacular. I like a nice orp personality. A orp with spots, I WILL have one eventually.

Since you struck down the feather duster, watch out, they will take over the world one day, @knoturavggrl has another great option. She can send a spare flower hen cockerel your way. You want a flower hen, you want spots and you need a boy.

Let’s be honest, everyone is troubled by the cecal poop syndrome. It is a shame that the chickens have to do that when we least expect it. Therefore I am taking up a collection to begin research on how to prevent, and or eliminate the cecal conspiracy.
This would help backyard chicken enthusiasts considerably. You may use USPS for any donation you choose to give, and be sure to include a sample of the offending items in question. I’m sure the mail would expedite your letter quicker that way. Thank you for your cooperation, and remember that we are all in this together!

I would let her drink. She feels she needs it. How would we know better.

I woke up at 4:45 to hens fussing--- I went to the coop . all were on the root looking at Onetail stiff on the coop floor. She didnt make it.
sad but thats life with chickens
