They always look so sad when they are moulting don't they. But I always tell them, don't worry soon you will be gloriously resplendent once again.

One pic looks so innocent while the other not so much... beautiful photography as always🩷

My new wireless bridge is working well

Silly me - but happy the internet is restored out there.
Bridge? This is what a careless Memorial Day celebrator did to our pedestrian bridge railing last night! Glad it was way on the other side of us & not on our cul-de-sac. Dang! our chickens can sleep thru Armegeddon!

Run Improvements

I have been on “vacation” all week, and we got some improvements made to the chicken and duck runs.

Tired of having to duck or have our hats knocked off by the “low side” of the netting over the run, plus wanted to extend it over the duck run. So we built a big frame about 8” tall to hang it all the way across.

Sunshade tarp added. Used shade cloth this time, for more air movement and so it doesn’t fill up with water when it rains. It’s held on by a total of 20 tie downs, so hopefully will handle wind without the eyelets ripping out so easy.

Also finally got the blocks around the “duck pond” to help prevent mud and erosion. Had some gravel down but this will help even more.

Wow. That is a lot of work and a big improvement. Good job!

I’m just waiting to hear back from my Vet for some Panacur liquid, it’s 3ml in 3 gallons of water for 3 days. Then repeat in two weeks.

2 tablets/Kg.

I cut them in half and put them into mini penne pasta which the chickens swallow whole.

I get them at global pidgeon supply

I think I would need to go the 'in their water' route. Can you imagine me trying to dose each of nearly 100 birds 1 by one... AND keeping track of which ones were dosed versus not? It would be hard to get them one by one out of the coop without some escaping!
