I was worried they would be forced to eat her. Somehow I knew the ending would be tragic.I was hoping for a better end for Myrtle like living on a farm the rest of her days... but in retrospect maybe it was a better end or she would've just suffered PTSD the rest of her life.

As with all chickens there are individual personalities. If you remember though, I recommended a Polish rooster to you because of their smaller size and reputation as calmer roosters. It seems that reputation is well earned.
Again it is important to remember that each chicken is an individual and may behave completely out of sorts with a breeds reputation.

Once they feather out, hard to tell with them, here I can only tell by behaviour, the youngsters continually call for the adults to feed them. Sometimes they get lucky and the parents give them some food.Looked full size to me but who knows.![]()
