Wanna know a secret?
I take the leftover Eucharist bread home, and distribute each morsel saying “this is holy bread, given to each of you freely, just as Christ gave his body and blood, to remove sin from this evil world.
(To be honest, i think they only wanted the bread, but it did give me one more chance to preach yesterday. Time is 12:27pst

I think you linked this for me when I used the Baytril I had on hand to treat Annie as emergency help when the vet's advice was to continue to treat for supposed coccidiosis, but she was going downhill and I couldn't get a return call. She quickly turned the corner, like within 24 hours she was improving. She was seven weeks old I think? She wasn’t going to lay for four more months! Everyone’s support here really meant a lot to me then. I still have angst / anger about the subsequent vet encounter and getting chewed out for using it.
Oh yes. I remember. That was a very upsetting episode.

He's so sweet 💗 . Heads up info ~ You're in Calif like me. Keep an eye out for those mosquitos. Their bites can carry fowl pox in heatwave weather. Keep an eye out for little white spots on face flesh, wattles, or comb on chickens. Catch it early to treat the spots daily w/ ophthalmic triple antibiotic ointment which is safe around eyes (Amazon) before it becomes wet pox in the eyes or trachea. Keep bird isolated during treatment till all spots are completely healed around 2-3 wks. Good news is that once a chicken gets fowl pox they have immunity from pox the rest of their life.

I have a pic of Violet w/ dry pox but she's smeared w/ ointment in the pic. She had spots on her walnut comb/beak & on her ears & face skin.

Five chickens on the roost. FIVE!!
After 6 weeks and one day sitting on a nest, Tassels has given up.
She really wasn’t sure and got down off the roost several times in the early dark and went towards the nest and then came back. But finally she decided to roost.
That means I have one week until she gifts me one of her beautiful green eggs and 4 weeks until she is broody again!
