Well poor Eli-too has been rather docile lately, and not escaping the enclosure. I picked her up earlier and noted her foot had some swelling, I saw she had a scab on her foot, which was loose.

And of course me being me, I picked it off. Came off really easy, but bled like a sucker! Left a good big crater in her foot. So I cleaned it up, and packed it with some animalimtex poultice. I’ll have to keep it clean and packed while it heals in this summer weather.

Funny thing was she was never lame.
How is Elli-too now?
I wonder how she hurt her foot

Seems good this morning. Who knows how the bumble foot starts. But I suspect it’s from flying down from higher locations. I will need to deal with Muffy this weekend her foot has an abcess in it also. Her initial bumble foot is back.

Yep, just sad we didn't have the same experience betw our friends' birds or ours. You'd think we'd collectively get at least ONE good Buff Orp experience out of 3 different flocks .
You would think. That's pretty amazing.

Well on our folks' farm they talked of their nearest neighbor by number of acres away while their more distant relatives' farms were gauged by how many road miles away they were 👍. My folks' neighbor walking distance to their house was 5 acres while the nearest relatives' farm was approx 5 miles away 🙂.
Well, we own an acre and a half (roughly). Physically closest owns the other 18.5 of the original 20 acre plot (the field below us). The part I walk Sherlock on most mornings (shed/blue horse trailer) is another multi-acre plot, half on the flat, half falling off to the creek flood plain. The place on the other side of the roses is another multi-acre plot. The one with all the cars is another and the place with the storage units (not pictured very often) is yet another. The green and cream place across the creek is a 100 acre place. The whole area is a section divided into mostly 20 acre lots, but has some other sized places. Up the creek are several 5 acre lots. All of this is several miles from town and even farther from any major shopping.

Love when the deer poke their heads up out of the long grass, but they are so skittish it is hard to get a picture. Well done!

Dana will peck at our pant leg to get our attn... but gently. Or she'll start talking in a certain tone. Either way is so cute... we often carry on conversations w/ each other even if we haven't a clue what the other is saying đź’•

Gaby will come inside now. She likes to sleep inside. Usually because it's hot out.
