the one at the back. The twin in front could still pop one.
Gorgeous - yes, definitely popping a crest :)
and the birds on a log
Oh, what a great picture - that is wall worthy. And a super jungle gym for the chicks🥰
And babies have started hopping on mama's backs while they're standing up....and even trying to stay there when Ma is walking around. So far, not much success there.
Ma, pleeeeaaaasse carry me, I'm tired and don't want to walk anymore. come on, ma - you are going that way anyways....awe, pleeeaaaseee, maaaaa! :lau :lau

Widget, my serial broody, is broody for the 3rd time this season. I thought, geez, it seems like I just had the breaker crate out... Yup! On June 5th.

I really, really hope she breaks quickly, as it is going to get HOT here. I put her in the crate yesterday. Last night and tonight are going to be nice a cool, but then the heat really builds in and we have a couple of 90° days coming up. Heat indices of 103-105° on Thursday and Friday.

Nobody went broody here this year. Tomatilla went broody for a few days earlier in the year but she got broken somehow. Wish I could have just one broody per year, it would make life easier!
careful what you wish for. I swear broodieness is contagious. I had one hen go broody...then all of a sudden there are 4 with babies and 7 more intent to hatch:barnie:th and that isn't counting the one that was half-broody for 4 weeks. (off the nest for 3 hours every moning - then stuck like glue to it the rest of the day!)
