I think I got lucky with that. Focus is mostly done too. Oddly, PITA seems to be mostly done at night but not during the day. It's warm enough that babies don't really need heat any more (they've feathered out faster than those I've raised inside) and the only areas left are heads (and those are patchy) and under wings.I think you’re right. But maybe it won’t matter, and at this point she needs to be handled a lot for care. And maybe they can have multiple mamas to share, like @rural mouse ‘s chicks?
Blondie and tailless got into a spat. Tailless is in the worst shape featherwise due to his slow feathering.
How things will play out with next broody, not a clue. I'm seeing the flared tail, back of head/neck flare and hearing the tuk-tuk from Jane....in the evening when it's go to roost time. She hasn't decided to brood, but may be thinking about it/flip the switch next spring. She tries now, she's out of luck. It's too late in the year and she's too low in rank to contemplate at the moment.
