It’s the puffy muffs and other feathers around their eyes. When she gets bigger you can trim the feathers so she can see, and so they don’t grow into her eyes.

I tend to pluck the lower eyelid feathers rather than trim. And any that tend to curl towards the eyes.
Good to know. I didn’t see any fluff or feather around her eyes. It was more like she got them glued up while she slept. But I don’t see any concerning discharge or anything. Initially I thought someone pecked her, but I don’t think so.
She was clearly terrified at being struck blind, and when I opened her eyes she sort of swallowed her last shriek and stared at me in silence with her beak half open. :gig
She is quite goofy and she does have big eyes!

Did you see my msg to you on that? From another thread?

Here goes: Claritin (or other allergy med) and an anti-inflammatory. And a nice cool compress.

Glad you are ok though, those yellow jackets are evil!

I am sure Tassels will be fine, are you planning on a night time intro? ♥️
I did see. Thank you. Claritin never seems to touch me but I did take some. I slept with an ice pack under my chin and I am taking some aspirin for the fever. I raided the pets first aid box for aspirin and a hydrocortisone skin spray.

Feeling sorry for myself tax: Chippy with her new wing feathers.

you go, Geronimo!!!!

In my humble opinion, no flock is complete without a rafter chicken!!!:gig

@RebeccaBoyd 's was Momma Hen, @Ponypoor has a couple, I have lots...we all need a rafter chicken - or two, or three......:th we don't all need 2 dozen, though!:barnie:th
80% of mine are rafter chickens.

Which is the one you think could be a Buckeye, or are there new thoughts on what she is? It would be the one attending to Cookie here (no other possibility present)... The leg color doesn't look yellow enough to me, which could be just the photo. The bit of dark horn on her beak tip is right, seen in a previous picture, and her other colors are within range.
You have four, right, and they are currently called (L-R) Cookie, (Bucky?), Chippy and Geronimo?

Yup. Exactly right. And here are some more Bucky pictures. In good news, both she and Cookie seem to have calmed down and aren’t attacking everyone all the time.

Here is Bucky day 1. I need to get more pictures of her. I was distracted by Chippy’s prolapse and trying to contain Geronimo.

Such good news about Chippy! Are you still applying sugar, or is it completely in now? So glad!

Bucky's legs still look too pink / Orpington-like here. Can that change in a few days with eating and growth? More pics of Bucky's back and head please. Her eyeliner doesn't seem right. But it's blending into the dark ear covering (yes) so hard to see if it's an actual eyeliner or not. I'm reading that a faint eyeliner is possible, but I've never seen it in my limited experience.

I think they just look big due to the dark on white colouring ♥️😊

Mrs LC has large eyes, they have always concerned me but hey she flies ok so she can’t have any issues!

She tried this last evening but I dodged away and she tried to follow me hahaha - what a brat!

This morning Chippy’s prolapse was completely in so I just let her be. She still seems to have sort of a lump above her vent but it isn’t internal tissue in the wrong place.

I will do a Bucky photo shoot. I love your Buckeyes and their gorgeous coloring so I am hopeful.

Hmmmm I think Holly and Jolly must have been that age or a bit more when I shoved them under Georgie. Their wings were developed like that.

And they took to Georgie right away and she to them.
