My son was a LEO, WSP. He said he dealt with 85% of the worst population, 95% of the time. Sad he got sick and it ended his career, but glad he's out of law enforcement.

It's hard being in law enforcement. When I hired on (60 yrs ago) was bad enough but it's worse today... you don't deal w/ anything but society's dregs unfortunately. I resigned after one year

I was in four years Sheriff department, until my twenty year stretch with the US Marshals. Had a lot of fun, only been stabbed three times, shot twice and learned that hiring a stenographer is cheaper than writing reports myself. Sadly they never allowed chickens in the academy. Bummer

Oh she likes to get into the trees really well! I am really surprised some of my gals don’t got up into the trees - as youngsters they would climb those pine trees to try and get the squirrels. But now they don’t even try to go into the trees.

Re: smoke/fires - yep it’s been horrible, and even in Newfoundland on my parents hometown they had evacuations - no one has ever seen that before.

On the one hand I am hoping for a mild winter but on the other hand I know winters here should be cold and snowy.

In the meantime the chooks, horses and I will enjoy every mild sunny day we get
