It's hard being in law enforcement. When I hired on (60 yrs ago) was bad enough but it's worse today... you don't deal w/ anything but society's dregs unfortunately. I resigned after one yearMy son was a LEO, WSP. He said he dealt with 85% of the worst population, 95% of the time. Sad he got sick and it ended his career, but glad he's out of law enforcement.

I was in four years Sheriff department, until my twenty year stretch with the US Marshals. Had a lot of fun, only been stabbed three times, shot twice and learned that hiring a stenographer is cheaper than writing reports myself. Sadly they never allowed chickens in the academy. BummerHe was in 7 years, plus time in the academy! I think it changed him a lot.
