We have a silver laced polish bantam she came with her bro but when we introduced them to the flock her brother ignored her so she was a lone chicken and got picked on by everyone so we used to feed her in our porch, and then use her to eat the food of the dining room floor. She used to run into our arms and when we picked her up she would fall asleep as it was her safe space. Now she’s filling integrated with the flock but she’s gone flighty after we went away on holiday.

She is beautiful.

Maybe you might have misinterpreted her? It’s a possibility. We humans make mistakes. Chickens don’t!

Wow! Makes me a little nervous operating anything over 20 yrs old. My Cherokee was 25 yrs old & rebuilt engine was running but everything was deteriorating mechanically & physically on it. I was original owner, never in an accident, always maintained it & replaced anything that wore out: power windows, windshield, transmission, visors, AC, etc etc. But at 225K miles I really couldn't trust it any more as my primary transportation ~ I had treated it like my baby. Original paint was peeling, automatic doorlocks stopped working, rubber molding deteriorating, door strips falling off, plastic lenses cracking, engine sounded tired, visors torn from sun exposure, etc... more $$$ fixing it than a new car payment... so I finally bit the bullet & treated myself to a new AWD Subaru off the showroom floor!

When I sold the old car the guy treated it w/ a special caring tow. I wanted to cry seeing my old baby depart but it was no longer a safe/reliable vehicle on our crazy Calif freeways!

Seeing a loyal friend leave us is a sad feeling. Ive had 157 sad feelings in my life so far. Many stupid mistakes also

Some chickens here are real sweepers (Tedi, Shehnai) and the rat-proof treadle feeder works really well, wasn’t hard to train the Bigs on, haven’t trained the Littles yet. The Omlet feeder is surprisingly good at containing feed if it’s not filled to the brim, there’s no spilled feed. The lip is effective.

The Omlet is vulnerable to mice or rats getting in at night though.

Years ago I ordered only the expensive Omlet feeder & waterer cuz of the no spill feature. After the order arrived I was disappointed that the hooks were too large to fit our run cage wires since the advertisement never gave hook dimensions! I had to give away these two pricey Omlet items as there was no way to adjust or modify them to fit! So many very nice Omlet features but like iPhones or Apple not engineered for mutual compatibility.

I love seeing your Omlet setups & putting them to excellent use Omlet has made some wonderful improvements over the years ~ especially the ladder on the pro.

And my best friend from high school who died of brain cancer two days after I went to see him.
His last words to me were “ thank you for being my brother in Christ, watching over me. I get that chance to watch over you, until we see each other again in heaven”
Indescribable joy and pain at the same time. I would hope that anyone of you has such a special permanent friendship as me and Brian had. Such a long story, one of many tear jerkers that my feathered roosters saw me through. If you feel sad, hug your rooster! Tell him anything, he won’t squawk!

Yikes, I just saw my typo! The planes I was flying in the 1980's were built in the 1930's, not 80's. Piper Cub, Aeronca Champ, Cessna 140, etc.

All tail-draggers, and only the 140 had a starter. All the rest required throwing the prop to start it.

Okay, so who has a favorite chicken at their side right this moment? My time off now is Aero shes a sweet Golden Orpington. I have two. I do this every day with my original tribe, unless I’m off somewheres else.

Yes the new Pro ladder is so much better! I ordered an additional one to retro-fit the Cube.

Yes mucho $$$ and that’s really unwarranted for some things! It’s too bad because much of it is made well. Beyond their cost and profits I think they want it pricey to add to the perceived value.
