Throwback to when Raven was a little chicken. I miss this little one (even though she was wild).

Waterers (like mine) and feeders should be at the height of the chickens back. That's to keep dirt and such out of them and my Vet says it's optimal for easiest drinking. That's why mine are raised as they are.
I have mine higher but with bits of junk (logs and blocks) so they can step up to drink.
Giant Mr. Chips doesn’t bother with the steps of course.

FBA Synopsis:
For the week of: 12/6 - 12/13

~ Previous weeks synopsis.

BYBob: Tractor supply got Mrs. BYBob and a Hapy Cluckmas from BYBob. A videos of a time when Lily ruled at FBA. A beautiful photo of Hattie. The big girls venture into the snow to Hattie’s coop. The beautiful magnolia tree, and a chicken framed by it too. Niamh is looking like she is at least thinking about laying her first egg.

Ponypoor: A lovely video of her chickens enjoying all the new straw laid down. Whiskers has decided enough is enough the chicks are old enough to be on their own. Silver put herself on Pony’s watch list and is breathing oddly after finishing her moult. So much snow and Mother Nature decided to defy Ponypoor’s wishes and dump ever MORE snow. Mr.P is ensuring his flock’s safety from the storm from a lofty height. How silkies keep warm at Pony’s farm. Another crop issue, this time it is Flopsy.

ValerieF: A personal update.

RoyalChick: A video of the teen Roo sounding the foods here cluckel sound to the girls. Smart little Cookie found a good way to ensure she doesn’t get pushed off the roost anymore. A nest box debate.

Pastel The Rooster: A lovely joke tax photo of a few of her chickens out in the run.

Featherhead 007: Three birds exploring, they look like paleontologists excavating a site! Busy girls maybe they are hoping to recover a very distant dino relative? What’s under the cup Dakota?

Fuentemoon: Some wonderful flock photos and a late but always welcome Fluffy Butt.

Rural Mouse: Solving genetic mysteries for us all again. A story with photos of some Roster antics and mouse caught on video. The snow has melted for now and is still chilly but the chickens are taking the snow free day to play.

Sylvester017: Her beautiful dark partridge examples. Lots of floofy heads, so cute.

Labsanschickens8: The flock is out and about today and got some great photos.

Another crop issue 😞

This time it’s Flopsy, and I fear for her. I picked her up to dose her with clotrimazole and brown fluid gushed out of her beak.

Of course this set me into panic mode, but I let it run out for a couple seconds then tipped her back so she wasn’t draining fluid, I don’t want her to get any into her lungs.

I dosed her with the clotrimazole and put her in the Hen House next to the heater. Hope she stays there.

I am seriously worried now. This is crazy too many crop issues what’s going on?

Anyways just incase she did aspirate any fluid I will dose her with some antibiotics tomorrow morning.

Edit
Just checked and she is sleeping by the heater thankfully

Are you sure they aren't getting into anything and eating it and now it's causing a blockage?

Sorry you are having so many crop problems!
Has her crop emptied this morning?
