feeling very frustrated right now. my external thermometer/hygrometer has decided to read 5+/- * low!! the humidity seems accurate but incubator temp won’t read over 96. I used hubby’s meat thermometer to double check and recalibrate but it doesn’t read .5* so i’m holding it at 99 and leaving it in. I candled 1 egg last night and looked normal development with start of spider veining so hopefully it’s just the thermometer i bought. I tried to look as quickly as possible so I wouldn’t lose too much heat. hubby said i could bring incubator in the house, but i’m not sure of a good/safe place to put it.
You need a place with a stable temperature for good results. You could try putting a blanket over it to maintain heat better.

my temp is staying pretty stable now with the exception of 1 screwup...i evidently did not get the egg turner post engaged properly last night and the top popped open my thermometer is all over the place 5* either way.....so i’m basically just using it for humidity reading and trusting the meat probe which is showing constant 99-100. in the brooder box it is somewhat insulated and the shed itself stays about 10* +/- warmer than outside. i have also started running the heat lamp above and at the other end to keep the area around the box a bit warmer. all seems okay but will know more at next candling.
