My little chick is fiesty, and we are naming it Trix/Trixie because it sure pulled off a bag of tricks to survive! My son is always wanting to give her "sugar" (kisses). Kids and baby chicks are really adorable.
Now for the chicken math that is happening - broody incubated 4 (of my own -free-)eggs hoping for 2 to 3 -free- chicks, ended with 1 chick, and spent $15 on supplies for rigged up incubator. Felt bad for lonely chick and worried about transition to coop in December, sooo....ordered 4 more chicks and spent $60, so next week we will have 5 new chickens...and none are really the breeds I meant to have, lol.
Glad to see some of the hatches, and sorry for those of you that lost chicks. I know how devastating that is now!
