I went outside for lunch and it's beautiful out there. You wouldn't even know we were expecting a it to rain down a pile of taters tomorrow. The sign in front of the school said 59 degrees. I forgot to pull down the window flap for the chickens this morning so I ran out to do it. After tip-toeing over dog poop I made it to the coop. They all desperately wanted out. I felt bad. Most of the snow is melted now and they know there's grass to frolic in beyond their cage... also Willie was being way more turdy than usual.

I am so tempted to smack you!

WTG Piranha face!!! I knew Piddles could do it. And how is my gentleman Boomer?!? Meow! Oh, make sure Booms knows not to use Capps 3 litter boxes... she won't share... :(

PIC (Partner In Chickens) is doing school work... but he usually is the one in the muckies to go IN TO the chicken run to feed the (now FINALLY) combined flocks of FlufferButters, Littles, Nuggets and Brat Pack. We have the Peeps and the Taterholes left........... aaaaand then we start in on Buckeyes!!!!

I am pretty proud of piranha face. :celebrate

Boomer says he has no issue ignoring Cappy's precious litter boxes. He will just go in a very hard to get to corner instead.
:bun

Kitties are OK around the puppy now. Right down to laying in my lap. Of course all 3 have told piddles to tater off.

Don't worry... tomorrow everything changes.

ETA: tomorrow's high of 51 will be at 4 am, then it's on down from there.

OOh, buckeyes? Let me know if they're any good. Not that I need any more breeds... but y'know

I am hoping to get eggs/chicks from actual breeders, not a hatchery. I am looking towards 2 separate buckeye flocks, so they might be able to be sustainable without interbreeding (too much).

Good idea. I'd love to do that with my PC but I have already dumped too much $$$$ this year on upgraded chook lodgings.

Maybe in another 5 years. :wee

Hot climates are inhospitable for chickens?
Neither is this one! I lost two birds in a day to cold at the end of December. :th

We have plenty of space here in Ohio... at least 3 of us in this thread are already settled here.
