So I have an egger that is molting and her shoulders are about bald, but have pin feathers coming in. Then one of my jerkface amberlinks keeps going after her & pecking at her new feathers. Should I cage up the egger until she's done molting to keep her safe, or should I just let them deal with it? View attachment 1259819

If the jerkface is causing bleeding I would lock the molter up if I could do it in the coop.

I would lock jerkface up.. don't punish the victim (unless everyone is going after her)

what???!!!

Not much to tell, toots. Went through my mom's stuff with my sis, got a little teeny bit of jewelry and a shawl. Caught up on our dysfunctional family life.

Went back to therapy.

Not sleeping, not eating much, lost 7 pounds (the upside of depression, lol! I feel like crap, but I look fabulous! Not).

Tried to go back to work yesterday, walked in the door, got sent home because there are already two subs in my place, and it is irrelevant for me to even be there--burst into tears, got told I looked like crap and they are worried about me, and to go get a doctor's note saying not to come back. As I still have a month there left (why won't they just let me go?!)

I got an emergency appointment at my doctor. Had an abnormally fast pulse. She gave me an EKG, and it was abnormal (because I was having a panic attack, hello!) She wanted to send me to the ER via ambulance. I was like, um, no, cuz it's a panic attack and I will have a legit heart attack once I get that bill. Let me calm down, do some yogic breathing, and you can re-EKG me.

And so I did, and so she did, and it was normal. And she wrote me an excuse for a week off. Better than nothing!

Last night I slept, for the first time in I don't know how long, and without meds to boot. And I feel all right, today. Living la vida loca, betches!! (literally, ha!)

Did you see the sleeping MD pic from last night?

I've wondered several times if they make electric mattress pads for cribs like they do for adult beds. I'd be too afraid he would break the water bottle + it would be a royal pain in the tater to keep it warm since I have no idea when he will go to sleep.

I wouldn't do the electric mattress, I'd be terrified it'd start a fire. You're supposed to put the water bottle in the bed then take it out before you put him in (or just after if you're juggling). Could you have someone toss it in there while you're nursing him?

I recently bought a small dog cage when I thought Jaiden might need it. So I can keep her in with them.

I agree.. but I'm not sure if she's the only one bothering the molter. The jerkface is one of the ones who kept picking at Odin's tail & is why he has to be segregated. I'll get the cage set up and see how things go tonight. I'm hoping she gets through it soon so it's no a long caging.

Ok, you're off for a week longer.. which I'm guessing would be using sick time so you will still have vaca days left, right? How many more days are you stuck there & how many more vaca days do you have? I'm wondering if you restful sleep is b/c you're free from hell for another week w/o guilt.
