Official Squatch Watchers

We got a ton of crap snow too. WAYYYY more than I expected and it's super windy. I know they *said* we were to get 3-6 here, but they're always way off. School's closed today. I didn't bother going to let the chickens out. Might go at lunch. It finally stopped snowing, but this is heavy snow and I'm worried the weight of it is dragging down the run.

Oh dang! We didn't get any... yet. But a week or so ago, when that heavy one hit us, hubby and I got stuck on the interstate behind a wreck, and the snow was so heavy and fell so fast, it collapsed the netting over my duck pen, and even sagged the fence. Can you get some of it off before it gets too heavy?

Last night did not go well. The Milk Drinker woke at 3:15 this morning with a stuffy nose and woke up completely when he had a hard time nursing. No matter what I did, I couldn’t clear his nose. DH took him for about an hour or so and let me try to sleep but I really couldn’t. I finally got him back to sleep at 5:45, but I had to get up for a chiropractor appointment. In total I got about 4 hours of sleep. :hit

I’m doing alright for now, but feeling even more run down than before.

Thankfully, the issue seemed to right itself overnight. When I unlocked my comp this morning I was still connected to all the programs I had running last night. :woot

One less thing to worry about. Today has been quiet so far. I just hope is stays that way. *knock on wood*

I'ma gonna have to have a talk with MD..... :D

Good morning(ish) to all as well. I am really sorry to hear about the downed trees and blocked roads..... but I am even MORE upset about the fact that our insurance doesn't cover our flood washed out driveway! It's like, only one of *very few* things our insurance DOESN'T cover... which makes no sense. I mean, we were told the insurance was FULL COVERAGE.... how could we even sell the house without a driveway?!?!?! JeSUS jumped up ginger ale snot.... makes NO sense at all.....:mad:

It's BEEE YOOOO TIFUL out right now...... light breeze... a little cool... PERFECT to get stuff completed outside. Gotta move the little coop off the area that I want to start the first garden, which we are naming The Pool Garden, as it's going where the above ground pool was last year. It's not going to be very big, about 20ft wide and 40 ft long.

I had planned on redoing the straw in the coop today since its nice out but the heathens aren't having it. I swear they wait on me! Start getting straw and poop out "in a bucket because hubs took my wheelbarrow and didn't return it!" And as soon as I get one bucket eveybody wants to lay...grrrr ok. Move to the other side and the doodle wants to get in my way, right in my face eating my tatering hay! I gave up for the time being, it isn't ment to be. :barnie

Good morningish! Sorry so many of you have crappy weather, I'd send some of my 50 degrees and sunny out to y'all if I could.
That whole ton of doodles thing has me nervous too. Last year out of four that hatched two were dudes. At least this year I know the daddy isn't a freak so it won't be quite as bad but still...ugh. The Bailey's strawberry is nothing like tequila rose its actually really good with none of the fake aftertaste. :)
That's sooo great to hear! I love strawberry stuff. When I was prego w/ the giant human I'd make excuses to drive to one of our other libraries so I could stop at DQ for a strawberry shake.

View attachment 1280917 View attachment 1280918 There are at least 4 trees down that we can see from the house! Two blew over, one of those would have hit my truck if i had parked where i normally do!
Here are my pics.
Wow, glad no people, animals, or cars were hurt. Looks like you're going to have some fire wood for later though. How'd the babies do in the storm?

I couldn’t get my car up almost every hill I came to. When I started home the roads didn’t seem bad.

This was my drive.
That's ridiculous. I think maybe you need some of those tire chains... or better yet THESE:

I stopped and checked it at lunch. It wasn't nearly as bad as I expected. I'll scrape off most of it later. The sun was out and a lot was melted already. I'm actually shocked by how much has melted. I think it's b/c the ground was so warm lately.

It's a sign that you should have take a break. When I stopped to let the chickens out into the run this afternoon 2 of them were dusting in the straw/poop/feed/ dust that's accumulated. smh.

Whew! I just cleaned out 3 more chicken houses and put fresh bedding in. Was using a hoe to pull the old stuff toward me to scrape out the door, and saw tail feathers in the nest box! Oops!! Didn't notice she was in there. :D
But got them done, so they should be happy.

2 chicks hatched this morning, 1 more pipped, the rest will probably wait till tomorrow. OEGBs always seem to hatch faster than bantam cochins.

Sara has hatched 2 of her 3, I pulled empty shells from under her and got a quick look at chicks, but by the time I got the camera up, she was getting annoyed with me.

I'm about to give up on mixing that dominique and just incubate some derp eggs! Its been days and he's still doing that stupid head pecking. Give it a rest man, be a dirty doodle like you're supposed to be and lets get the show on the flipping road. Tomorrow I'm going to gather and set what I've got, 2 Lulu's and 1Tuck's right now should get 2 more tomorrow. I'll slip in a Hobo just in case. I need to get some hatched though so the littles can benefit from the springtime. Never thought I'd be on hold so long waiting for chickens to get busy. :(

Have you tried cracking one of hobo's eggs just to see if it is fertilized? He could have done the deed and you didn't see them do it.
