You guys...so I heard this godawful screaming chicken noise from my Seramas (who are now fully integrated with the Originals--the Silkies and Flower) and I went over to investigate. Negan was on Suzi's back doing the nasty! What the heck? They are only 11 weeks old! Do these guys sexually mature at an earlier age? Because I could tell the boys from the girls at two weeks or so. Does this mean the girls will start to lay eggs sooner also?

@WVduckchick and anyone else who knows about Seramas~

Of course, I yelled at him "Get off her you nasty boy!!" lol and swatted him off. I hope he doesn't start going after the Originals; he'll just get a beakful of fluff, lol!

:wee
To all the babies!!!!

@CapricornFarm try a mixture of dawn dish soap and warm water on the plants. Do it at night and very early (like an hour or so before the sun comes up) in the morning. Spray the plants that have the bugs. It's a natural bug pesticide. It worked for us in OKLA

My hubby left this AM for Oklahoma for another few weeks :hit:hit:hit:hit

@Redhead Rae my little one used to say shut up at the dogs when barking(my fault ) and we kept telling her no mommy said it wrong and had her say hush or shhhh and she actually will catch herself in the middle of shut and change it to hush. We just kept at telling her what word she needed to use.

Thankfully my FIL lives with us, and I am a stay at home mom so there's alot more supervision.
But my husband another story :he
My oldest learned d*mn it! from me and I had to retrain her to say Oh Dear! instead. It was hilarious. I was also very proud when she said sh*t and used it properly, but also had to retrain that.

Are you sure we aren't related? :caf
Hmmm got any relatives from WV in the 1800's b/c if so there's almost a 100% chance we're related.

They do make some weird azz noises, don't they? Blueberry (my Derpaucana) has been broody the last couple of weeks, and when I go near her she puffs up into this magnificent ball of blue feathers, sticks her butt feathers straight up, and lets loose this noise that (I guess) is supposed to be scary but sounds like some possessed person speaking in tongues....kinda like a mumbling demonic trill....it's hilarious!:lau
That's what Loki did! She'd make this low kinda growly sound. She's a bit louder now that she has an actual baby and is almost always puffed up.

When I get a better look at all the damage I may just remove the tree.
An apple crop where I live is like once every 5 years anyway.
Kind of a waste of space if I never get fruit.
Sounds like you might as well just chop the whole thing down if that's the case. Does it have termites or a beetle infestation? At my parent's old house we had a tree that was hollow in the center from termites, but still produced a ton of apples, except that by the time they were ripe they were all bug eaten and gross.

I stopped to check on Loki and Nugget during lunch. Nugget is still alive and Loki is being a good mom. I grabbed the chick and checked it's underside, which I forgot to do yesterday. Everything looks good. Loki was very agitated that I was messing with her and got up out of the nest. I put the baby back in but before Loke could sit the chick took off. I returned Loki and the baby to the nest and tucked it under her wing. I'm done messing with it until she starts taking it out. I put some food by her so she doesn't have to get up, except to poop and get water. I'm wondering if I should move them into something that is more confined that would keep the baby from wandering off alone, or do they usually stay w/ the mama.

I got a full grown Serama from a friend, he was a frisky little dude.

All my bannies are some % of him. They are all frisky and start very young!! And they go after any girl big or small....including the ducks:eek:

Did yours start around 11 weeks like mine? That just seems so young. He is SO cute and struts around like Mick Jagger, lol. He is gorgeous and he knows it! My other little cockerel, Grumpy, just starting crowing and it is the funniest thing. He just goes "EEeee" like a little squeak. Negan is definitely the alpha male.

I never, ever thought I would wind up with roosters (I also only wanted like 2 or 3 chickens, ha). But they are so entertaining and so cute! I love my little flock. :love

The tree is a disappointment for sure. I will likely take it out. No bug damage from what my tree trimmer said last fall. He did say he was surprised it was still alive after it had fireblight a few years ago.

:woot For Loki and nugget by the way.

Its a little early maybe, but the warm weather gets them going too. I think the youngest I've gotten an egg is 15-16 weeks. And one went broody at 20 weeks, I think.

My son told me one day, and in perfect context I must say... "You're such a bi+ch" :lau I couldn't help but laugh.

Speaking of chicken noises... my OEGBs just go on and on and on and on....

Omg. First off I’m blaming everything on climate change.

Second... Lololol. She sounds like mine ...
except on helium!
She’s adorable!

I dont really know the time frame but I can tell you that I can tell who's gonna be a boy at 1 week old now if they are a bantam mix. They are cocky and charge at you lol. I know it was very young that they were chasing the ladies.!!
