Official Squatch Watchers

No idea at all who owned it. I had never seen it before. Just totally heartbreaking.
I would crash my car if I saw my dog like that.

Not sure if it's better if they think it ran away and someone has it or to know the truth.

I would want to know the truth,, at least I could stop looking... although it could be a dumped dog :barnie

The homeopathic remedy Arnica 200c. Best thing ever for bruises.

Thanks for the recommendation. I can't put anything but Bacitraicin on the area for now because of the open wounds. Also, I need you to DM me what you were talking about last week, your homeopathy thing for energy? I never have a drop to spare for even basic crap.

Good morning all! I'm feeling OK, even though I didn't get much sleep. Couldn't quite figure out how to lay since, no matter how, the procedured area kept touching something. It's also uncomfortable to use the restroom, as some of the area touches the potty seat and sticks. TMI, I know.

I might pull a @Chickassan and just name the rest of the tags, start drinking wine with them... telling hilarious stories of WHY we don't travel or go out dancing anymore......:hit

Cappy, may I suggest a chicken therapist? We need to find out why they're so darn suicidal! (hugs)

:hugs to Henny... you sweet thing you.... so wonderful to try and care for the human and dog.

Very proud of your medium sized human Apryl and congrats to you and yours!

She is trying to teach her babies to roost.
Oh, that would be wonderful if that was is. Can the get up there? I didn't put roosts up in the coop until my other birds were much bigger. It's about 4' off the ground. She gladly went into the baby space last night, but this morning had no qualms about coming out. I know the chicks can handle the heat in the coop, but I don't want Loki to get baked in there. Later today she can forage w/ her babies in the run. She goes out to range, but the babies stay inside and dig around in the straw for feed. I noticed last night she went over and got some egg shells too. She keeps trying to go sit on eggs, but if she doesn't stop that after the babies are grown I'll have to break her. We're kinda babied out right now.

Well, it turns out my Dark Cornish hen is a bad mommy.

I went out to check on her and the chicks this morning. 4 of the chicks had found a hole in the netting between the sides and had gone over to the other hen and the DC hen was still on the nest with two babies clamped tightly underneath her. She was pecking them if they came out. I pulled her off the nest and brought the babies outside. Moved the 4 babies back over to her and got the stuff I needed to repair the netting. Before I could do the repair, one of the older chicks from the buff I had next to the DC hen made its way through the hole and the DC hen viciously attacked the chick. The chick was alright, but scared. As I was repairing the hole. I watched the DC hen scratching and trying to show the chicks how to forage. However, if the chicks got in front of her when they looked at what she was scratching, she would peck them and pick them up by the scruff and throw them to the side. She also stepped on the babies and wouldn't get off them when they screamed because she was hurting them. The biggest tell to me, was the chicks kept balling up in the corner to stay out of her way and keep warm. I put the DC hen in with the other DCs (I need to put together a broody breaker for her) and gave the chicks to the hen I gave 4 babies to last week. She took them gladly! Molly really wanted them, but she already has 7 chicks that are 3 and 4 weeks older than these babies. Well, now I have a place to put my broody Dominique/Buff until more eggs hatch.....
Wow, that sad, but good that Molly wanted the babies. Does this mean she'll always be that way, or is there a chance she'll be better with them in the future?

View attachment 1453983 Good morning hope y'all have a fantastic day:celebrate

So me! :gig Have a wonderful day!

That's the problem we had w/ Steve... We all thought he was a girl until he was 19 weeks and started acting like a boy... I don't want to accidentally keep a boy and get rid of my girls. Loki's acting like she's done w/ the babies already. Last night she was trying to get up on the roost, but I locked her in w the babies last night. Tonight I need to block in the bottom of the coop from the back and dismantle the baby cage so they can be free w/ everyone else. I'm hoping she'll stick around w/ them and take them outside and teach them how to chicken w/ the big ones.
How long should I wait until I let them out to range w the others? They'll be a month old about the 9th.

I love it too... It's way more impressive when you can hear the shoes hit, but they dub the music over to cover the audience sounds and then you can't hear the shoes. The youngest ones here are 7 (3rd and 5th ones from the left) and the oldest are the 2 on the right who are now 15.
Do you mean the one circled in red? I was talking to her mom last night.. This is just her 2nd year doing competition and she won a national title for her solo! She has some major talent. The boy child is my friend's son. He's the only boy on the team and one of the only boys at the studio. He has some major skill too. Fun fact, he's partially deaf & wears hearing aids. You wouldn't know it by the way he dances.

Ok so she really wanted me to play ball. :hmm
It was 6:30 in the morning! Sheesh let me get some coffee in me.

Hi Sable! :frow :love

The remedy I recommended is an oral dose. Take it between meals and drinking (other than water). Don't drink anything 15 min before or 15 min after. Let the pellet dissolve under your tongue. There is Arnica cream, which is awesome, but the oral remedy works as well.

The remedy I used for energy was Nux Vomica 200c (Lovely name, I know). It is mainly used for overindulgence (food, lack of sleep), when food doesn't agree with your system (Consuming food allergens, food poisoning, indigestion), for upset stomach, and to help your body detox from meds (Antibiotics, any other medications that give you side effects). It basically helps your system reset and purge bad stuff.

Both my Buffs wanted the babies. I gave them to my other broody Buff because Molly's babies are so much older.

Usually, if a hen is a bad broody, she will always be a bad broody. I'm just going to break her and not try again. I honestly think she stomped some of her eggs and the broken eggs is what caused the rest to go bad.

Hi beautiful Squatchy Peeps!!

I'm back from N`awleans, what a magical place!!! My poor liver needs a rest, yikes!

I ate a bunch of weird sh1t, drank my face off, gained 5 pounds, listened to a LOT of great music, was unintentionally rude t a bunch of deaf folk, and almost got kicked out of a metal bar called the Dungeon (which used to be an S&M fetish club) for doing backflips off the restraints in a big iron cage. A great time was had by all!

Now I have to get back in the grove of things, love on my doggies and chookies (I missed them terribly) and catch up on the 300 or so posts here.....

Love ya's! :love And...GREAT TO BE BACK! :frow :wee
