Oh Rj, I didn’t say I can AFFORD to get my lawn doneToo funny.... Morning all
I can't wait until I can afford to pay to have my lawn cut... Takes me two days with the walk behind and I don't do the area down the driveway... For my terrain JD want's about $5K for a lawn tractor. 4WD4WT.
ETA: The guy with $10K worth of equipment does it in like two hours.

My ex did say that about the kids. Sooo sorry his parents didn't do their job to raise him, but I'm not his mom.The ex was famous for "You spend more time with the chickens then with me." I flat out said I would hope he could feed and water himself at this point in his life cause if not he's past my help. I then reminded him that they do need cleaned up after just like he did.
Glad we don't have kids. Be complaining they take up too much of my attention.![]()
That's adorable... I don't remember a single time my ex asked how my day was. There was a point where my folder/ inserter wasn't working so I spent most of the evening hand folding overdue notices, stuffing hundreds of envelopes, and sealing them and he'd sit on the couch watching tv (then going to bed) like I didn't even exist.. Didn't offer to help or anything. There's all levels of tater husbands. When yours hits the level of my ex you release him back into the wild.Let’s pretend he came home and asked you, “ How was your day honey?” And within 15 seconds of beginning your answer, you notice that his eyes go glassy and vacant.... and you know that no ones home in there so to speak... then we married triplets, separated at birth.
I've had that happen, I'm usually just happy that someone agrees w/ me, or likes my response and isn't telling me I'm stupid and to read their response b/c THEY are right. I think I've encountered every single rude person on this site. It makes the block feature really nice.Going to vent a moment....
Maybe it’s me being over sensitive but I responded to a thread. As happens another BYCer chimed in, asked a few questions. When OP posts— tags second responder. I again post adding a little more info and answering OPs questions.
Second responder seconds my advice and again OP specifically tags them asking their advice. Nothing against second responder but is there something wrong with me? Second responder again repeats what I said. Maybe OP will specifically ask them more questions I answered.
:::end rant::: :::face palm:::
I hope you guys are able to figure out something that works for your FIL, but keeps him well cared for. My uncle had parkinson's and he was eventually moved into a nursing home b/c he was getting violent and my aunt couldn't care for him anymore. Though as his situation advanced he ended up in a wheelchair and he wouldn't have been able to stay at home anyway. W/ my gma my aunt lived w/ her and closer to the end my parents stayed there too b/c it was too much for my aunt.DH is on his trip to figure out the situation about his dad.
First day was very discouraging and he’s troubled that his siblings that live nearby are neglecting him.
First call of the day is to his primary doctor to find out what his current medication schedule is supposed to be because his sister “bought him” a medicine holder but he’s so confused he doesn’t load it. (And no one comes to load it for him weekly).
And DH reports that his Parkinson’s tremors are so bad he can get the pills out of the little compartments anyway.
nurses, medical assistants or caretakers have any suggestions on this predicament?
Dh is currently fuming.
And yes. We know he should not be living alone PERIOD,
but he says he’s not budging.
That's really awesome!I would ask about getting him helping some sort as well.
I was surprised by the changes in what qualifies a person for home care from hospice now. (Ex's aunt was literally dieing and they sent a nurse 2x a week. The family hired extra help and stayed with her in shifts 24 hrs a day) Maybe it's different state to state.
Years ago (6-8) someone I knew got a machine that dispensed medication. A nurse would come out and fill it and set the times and days. The machine would beep and the person had to come and push a button to get their medicine. If the Button had not been pushed by a certain time then I call was placed to family to be have them checked on.
They are visious! Do you still have all the fingers you showed up with? Mine did the same thing with watermelon. I *tried* to give some specifically to the babies, so they didn't have to fight w/ the big ones and naturally the big ones thought the babies were getting something special and ran over to eat all of their melon. Greedy little turds.Well today I gave these new hussies some worms like I do every batch and received the expected fanfare. I am the best thing going now. I also got some big worms for the big kids, it has been a while since I treated them. Ohhh boy what a scene! Lulu is ravenous so she actually drew blood on the little males that tried to eat out of her pile. Beavis was snatching out of adult mouths which got her a whole lot of pecks. All I could do was watch and hope nobody left with brain damage. One of those best intention scenerios that just went all kinds of wrong.![]()
What mama doesn't?My DW is perfect just as she is... Pigs are doing great, but mamma has issues with too much rough housing.
Good luck! & Lucky Cookie.Ok just listed 2 roosters on craigslist, iv'e had it with the shenanigans! Free cocks, bring your own box! There can be only one, and Cookie is the lucky bachelor because he dosen't bother a dang thing.![]()
holy wow. That's horrible. It's at least not humid, right? How do you keep your birds from cooking out in the coop? It’s so dam hot my girls pretty much stopped laying. Down to three eggs a day. I refuse to buy eggs. Someone send me some
110 tomorrow
You could ask him if he's got a problem w/ you mowing the front part before he gets back. That way your guilt is gone if he says don't do it & if he says to do it then you can do it w/o him getting upset.Oh Rj, I didn’t say I can AFFORD to get my lawn done
I’m just willing to forfeit grocery $$ just so DH doesn’t have to see it and feel bad when he drags his heiney home from dealing with his family’s affairs. I dont want him to think he has to get out there in the heat and do it to just to make the neighbors happy. He has to be at work on Monday morning and has to hit the ground running after being out of the office for a few days.
And it’s HOT here, and he’s old. And out of shape. Like me!![]()
That is super great news about your daughter!!!!Found a nice little dead mouse in a trap yesterday. Reset them and I'm hoping for the little rat that I keeps seeing darting away from the coop.
Poor little Olive is naked under her few feathers. She's been molting forever!

Willie looks like he's got some molting going on. His neck is naked now. & there's a bunch of white feathers all over the place from 2 of the eggers.
My dad may have found someone to take Odin. He picked up a tv my mom found someone selling online. They had chickens & he asked if they wanted a rooster. The guy said maybe b/c they were his wife's chickens. They want someone to protect the flock. They're supposed to call if they're interested. I just worry that he'd be a turd to them too, but I've heard more than once about a turdface rooster being rehomed and they're a model citizen for the new owners. If not, if they want to off him then so be it.
I'm thinking more and more that the 2 big combs are boys, but I'm waiting for those saddle feathers to appear. The other 2 are getting their tails in. I need to get some pics, but they're bigger than my bantam now and are absolutely beautiful. The big ones are still giving them a hard time, but it's been nice out so I'm not so worried about their water situation.. They need to start standing up to the big ones & they won't figure it out if I coddle them. Plus they're getting bigger every day so eventually the big ones will stop.
My tiny human saw her gastro on Wed and they said everything looks good. She's down to taking just 2 meds a day now. She's not having any stomach pain at this point. She did have a suture that her body is rejecting and was coming out of her belly button incision, but one of the surgery nurses snipped it off and said more might come out, but it's ok if it does. Then she saw her headache dr and she said things look great and took her off all of her headache meds/ preventatives (which she wasn't taking since her endoscopy in May) and we'll re-evaluate things in the fall after school starts back up. So good news all around.
I almost forgot! When I went to get feed last week Tractor Supply had chick bins set up so it looks like they're doing a summer chick days again.
