Addendum:
I am not gonna lie. I caught a freshly-laid Fergus (beautiful white dove-like Serama) egg in my hand. As I watched the bloom dry, I said "Tater it," and threw it in the bator. It was like some crazy, possessed chicken person took over my body and did it.
I figure, if any of those Cemanis hatch, if there is only one, it will need a sibling. And Seramas are tiny, and will not take up much space. Plus, I am rehoming Pippins (my frizzled BC) because she is EVIL. As in, she hates me and tries to peck me to death every time I get near her (no lie, her eyes become full of hatred). She actually pecked me in the upper eyelid once and drew blood.
So my chicken math is thus:
At my max, I had 17 chickens (mostly bantams. Five standard, but ACs are like bantams, as they are pretty small).
Now I have 15 chickens. Only 4 standard, and my biggest, nasty-assed bantam is going away.
So: 14 chickens I will have. This mean s I can have 3 more (hatch!) and then I am where I started. Actually, if one Serama hatches, I will be from before, because that is a smaller replacement chicken.
At least, this is how I will explain it to my husband, who always says "NO MORE CHICKENS!!!" It's half-assed, however, when he says it now, because he knows it is part of my therapy.
I have to go to TSC now and buy chicken food (look at the baby chicks. I'm not gonna buy any, I swear).
Damn it, my minute was up a looooong time ago, lol! See ya later.....
