Is it okay if I join in?

Hi Kayla, welcome to the Squatch!:wee

We're a freaky little band of misfits (said with love!) who talk about everything and nothing, pretty much all the time. And most of us just ain't right, as they say in the pines here, but we're REAAALLLLYY good people.

:love

So many birthday chicken memes, so little time...!

How's the cleanup going, chickie?!

That is right up @Smuvers Farm alley, lol!!! Right next to that ridiculously expensive jamon from last tax season!

I see the future, and it includes a can of overpriced bacon that she'll be jamoaning over soon.. :oops:
I was thinking the same thing!

The Great Eggsperiment Day 17!!

All 5 of my eggs are still alive and kicking! I sound really dorky on this video, I'm camera-shy, lol. This is my (hopefully) Lafayette spawn, I'll try to get a video of my lone Serama baby.

Yay!!! Ugh.. so close, I can't wait! Babies any time now! When do you lock down?

Anyone hear from Misty lately? I know they were getting ready to move, but I can't remember when we saw her last (probably earlier today and I'm just daft).

uh oh! You didn't just go there........

Oh yes I did <evil grin>.

I figure, if nothing else, this may just lure her out of lurkdom....!

Lest we forget, lol:

Jamoaning
: The sound one emits while eating a $300 piece of Serrano Jamon. This is the sound doves make when they cry.
"She was still JAMOANING over that teensy slice of $300 ham she ate two nights ago. It was, like, the best thing she ever had in her mouth."

Get a jamoaning mug for your father-in-law Paul

So, I rehomed Evil Pippins last night, y'all. She was my beautiful, mean, frizzled splash bantam cochin that I hatched out in March. I would feel bad, except:

1.) I now have room for more chickens, and 5 eggs to be hatching soon;

2.) She was nasty as all taters, hated my guts, and tried to peck my eye out on at least one occasion;
3.) She is going to my old vet tech friend Carol, who is also a crazy chicken lady. She has a farm, and Pips will have a kick-azz life showered with love. Bye, Pippins!

I'll tell ya. For all I have read about cochins being sweet, loveable balls of fluff, the two I had were not (Black Betty who died suddenly was my other one, and while she was not mean, she always ran in terror when I approached her). No more cochins for me!

Now I have 14 chickens, not counting the 5 in the bator, of course. That--I think--is a reasonably low number! ;)
