These are my two moms, Fergus and Olive. They are both doing a wonderful job as first-time moms! :D

Green box is window opening... or should be. Red line is where I already nailed it up. :::face palm:::
I may try and take down the sheeting... the windows don’t line up anyway. It will probably drive me crazy.

Is the planned window opening too close to where I want to put roosts? I was going to do them along the back wall. Basically in the next section over from where I’m putting the windows.

I think the weatherproofing they did is a bit extreme but the "getting the tatering thing in the wall" part is alright.

I would proceed with install over sheeting, trim and caulk it well.

Don't install backwards. The weep holes would angle water from the track inside the coop.
Don’t think they even have weep holes. LOL “Utility windows”

The placement is pretty close to the roosts..... You get crazzzzyyyy winters there.
It should be ok since in winter they are more for light than venting with your open soffits.

All windows should have weep holes.
I was worried they wouldn't want to roost there if they felt vulnerable to predators. If it's too cold are they don't seem to like it I'll add shutters....

FWIW, I have a window right next to my roosting areas and no one seems to mind. They all sleep near that corner, and I keep the window open all year long.

They do get uncomfortable/nervous if it gets to dusk and the half door on the other side of the roosts is still open. I use the half door for cleaning and egg collection and sometimes leave it open to air things out when they are ranging. But they know it should be shut at night and if it isn't no one wants to roost too close to it. Window is a totally different story, because it has always been there and they are used to it.

TLDR: I am sure your chickens will quickly get used to having the windows and won't be bothered by them at all.

Edited to add: I am obviously in a pretty mild climate, so I can't speak to whether chickens get cold next to a window. Just that mine do not seem to feel vulnerable near one.
