I took some poop up to the vet's yesterday for a fecal float... There's still roundworm so we're going for round #2 of the safeguard. They said 3ml of 10%/ gal of water for 3 days, which is what I did last time. They were at least clear for the coccidosis (sp?) and tapeworm. I'm barely getting any eggs anyway so it's not a huge deal.. just frustrating. Anyone know if it'd be ok to do 4 days instead of 3 to make sure they're getting enough? I've treated all their water containers, but since we've been getting enough rain to build an ark I'm not sure if they might be drinking out of puddles in the run.
 
I cook them their eggs then cook myself some and eat. Theirs have a chance to cool off that way.
I've seen one peck since they have been housing together. Most of the time they look at each other like they are waiting to see if the other is going to peck them. When no one makes a move to be dominant they both decide it must be ok to be friends and start eating. Most mornings when I go down they are standing next to each other.

You might have better luck dosing them directly. I know it's a pain to do but that way you know they are getting it. Worming while molting can be very hard in them so I would keep an eye on everyone.

Try to remove smell triggers. For some odd reason the smell of vanilla candles/ lotion made me so sick when I was pregnant w/ my oldest. Didn't happen so much w/ the younger one. Both were girls so gender had nothing to do w/ it.

We are getting two barrows (neutered male feeder pigs). This is our first time with piggies so we are just testing them out this time around. Didn't want to jump in feet first with getting breeder stock.

I've already had to tell my mom she can't use her frankincense and Myrrh soap on the Milk Drinker. I can't stand the smell of it now and since we wash his hair with just bar soap, it lingers and I can't sniff his head on the rare occasions he wants to cuddle.

I've been gone for over a week. I've come to the conclusion that my morning sickness (just extreme stomach cramps not puking) is just worse this time around. I thought it was a combo of being sick/pregnant, but it isn't going away. Ugh, thank goodness for sparkling water and homeopathy. They both help take the edge off and let me work.

Oh and we are getting two wee piggies on Saturday/Sunday. I still need to put the hog panel fence together and build a hut we can use to close them in at night to keep them safe from the coyotes.

Three days is good.

If the next float test still shows worms, use valbazen instead.
 
Soooooo......

I went to walmart for candy hunting........

Tricksy they are.........

3 pallets near door marked 50% off.....all boxes empty!
Ok go just barely past them.....oh good more pallets! Wait......What???? I hear a lady getting a price check........not on sale.........all fun size, snack size etc packaged but not on sale??????

Put pallets of empty boxes, then pallets of full price THEN 3 aisles later and hidden from view a small smattering of on sale on shelves.......which also had boxes of not on sale mixed in.

Yup I got CANDY!




now to find a white van..............
