Official Squatch Watchers

I skipped a lot but went back a few pages to get current events. Thursday and Friday were a long week. Also not looking forward to next week but oh my bird seem to be doing well. Trim some butt feathers yesterday and noticed this on one of themView attachment 1654808
Is that from a yeast infection? Everyone else I checked seemed fine.
Coops not too bad with temperature and moisture and wind. I finally found some pdz at a different Tractor Supply & bought 2 bag so I don't have to go back there soon. Just for my own personal clarification the night that we're supposed to -10 degrees, my birds should be okay correct?
Maybe. Make sure they have grit and get them a bit of yogurt-- tablespoon each of plain yogurt

It should work fine. Did you put drops on the vent? I have read instructions for that. and not mixing up the spray as a diluted solution and spraying.

I have had success using a weaker concentration as a spray. Lots of discussions as to weather it works or not. Funny when it did work for me very well. I bought the strongest version of captain Jacks dead bug juice.

Spinosad will persist in the coup for 4 weeks if not in direct sunlight and keep killing the mites for that time.

Very non toxic to the chickens too
I have a spray bottle of the Elector PSP water mix. I checked every bird and sprayed some in my hand to rub on their butts and in their pits. There were a few with eggs started on the feathers so I gave them a butt spray. Made a list of who had them and how bad. I’ll check again in a few days.

Cappy, i'd lose a finger. I can barely use a safety razor without dying.:)
I use a razor blade to split my bp pills. Works well.
Brought my limpy gimpy back in to give her the asprin, have to do it that way because everybody thinks its a treat.
Anyway look at her feet! No wonder poor thing is limpy. And she's redder today @staceyj :)

I go through phase here--currently I am burning my self. I have not cut myself in quite a while! Several weeks ago I slipped grating Romano cheese and grated a knuckle though....

Ohh,done that too many times! Don't know which is worse burning phase or cutting phase.
Burning phase was last month, the finale was dropping the soldering iron in my lap.
Cutting phase started yesterday, had a glass explode in the sink and I found it the hard way.

I need to be careful today! I am cooking a whole chicken in a dutch oven. I will wear both oven mitts this time and maybe use a dish towel too. I have one burn on my finger pealing today and am mostly healed up now :fl

You need some silicone oven mitts! I got some at walmart that almost come up to my elbows. I think they protect up to 500 degrees and the grip is amazeballs.:)

I will look for those! The ones I have now are ove gloves and the do not do as well as they should.

Ohh and I do think Sallie is putting on a little bit. I was maybe five minuites late getting out to the coop and she'd managed to gimp up the ladder. The first chicken in there too. So either she's a heck of a jumper "she isn't" or she's being a bit dramatic for treats and snuggles.
My girls are rotten! And i'm a sucker.:gig
