This is actually a serious situation.
A member is under "review" for an action that was taken out of compassion.
Recap: We have a member who stepped in like a mama hen (pun intended) and -call it what you want-: shielded, deflected, defended... another member who some of us here know is not of legal age, who is in fact quite below it.
It was a fluid situation. Comments were posted by other members who were unaware of her tender age and sad situation.
In my opinion,
@Smuvers Farm did the right thing in that situation.
If she hadn't posted what she did, I honestly would have posted something quite similar to stop the flood of "DIY how to kill your chicken at home" suggestions.
I am a devoted, experienced and loving parent who raised 4 really great young adults.
I realize that we aren't capable of policing every minute our kids spend online nor are other people's kids our responsibility to police.
But as one adult to another, heck yeah, I'm going to speak up to shield someone else's child whether im asked to or not. Sorry if you're offended by this.
We aren't talking about a kid growing up on a production farm.
This is a delightful, intelligent, precocious young lady who was dealing with a critically and ultimately mortally ill PET CHICKEN.
There was no other course of action available, that was as immediate acting,
Short of the administrators installing an
EMERGENCY STOP BUTTON like they have at gas stations, on these forums, to put an end to comments and suggestions that were being posted.
