I'm mainly bringing them because our friends (the husband anyway) wants experience butchering chickens. He's already done quail and rabbits. They also don't want to pass up pasture raised, organic fed meat :) I'm not sure if he is going to want to butcher them while we are there, but I'll provide instruction if he does and wants it. I won't participate though. The thought of bleeding out or gutting a chicken right now (because I'm pregnant) makes me feel ill. I would help with plucking and guidance, but that is about it.
I understand!

We went to do service for a couple once that was processing meaties for them. The Husband had a heart attack and they needed to get them processed for market.

I got to do the bleeding.

My cockerel came home!!!! He is okay!!!
:celebrate:wee:ya:yesss:

Thank you all for your kind words and encouragement.:hugs
That happens quite a bit!

Oh, and my hen Amelia is doing very well. She is happily running around with the flock, eating, drinking, and doing chickeny things. If she wasn’t missing half her tail, you would never guess anything had happened. I’ll bring her inside in a little while to clean her wound again, but it looks like she will be just fine.

I still need to bring the little guy in for a full checkup but he seems fine. Dancing and tidbitting like always. Just missin a couple tail feathers.

Well Chooky iv'e got no idea why he isn't floppy anymore, he's got to have a strong little neck to hold all that upright though.
I'm glad him and Amelia are none the worse for wear. :)
Yup, my little goofball. :love So glad to see him today. Although, it is kinda weird, his comb has gotten less floppy over the last couple months. It almost stands up straight now
