If she wasn’t missing half her tail, you would never guess anything had happened. I’ll bring her inside in a little while to clean her wound again, but it looks like she will be just fine.

I still need to bring the little guy in for a full checkup but he seems fine. Dancing and tidbitting like always. Just missin a couple tail feathers.

Hey there Maureen,

I saw that you recently reached out to us in regards to the American Journey Chicken & Sweet Potato Recipe Grain-Free Dry Dog Food with the following question:

"I read 1000 mg of taurine per day for every 40 pounds of the dog's body weight. Would this feed supply that going by the recommended number of cups of feed?"

Thanks for barking in! I've done some digging and found that the Taurine levels in the American Journey diets range from 0.12-0.16% on an as-fed basis. Dogs are able to synthesize Taurine from the protein in their diets. Therefore, Taurine is not required as part of the AAFCO Dog nutrient profile. However, because studies have shown a risk of Taurine deficiency in lamb based dog food products, we have chosen to supplement Taurine in our American Journey Lamb Puppy Recipe. The approximate level of Taurine for both American Journey Puppy Diets is 1000 mg/kg on an as-is basis. I hope you and your furry family have a great day and weekend! I do believe that the state is compensating for the birds. Probably at $3 each.

yeah you have a right to be worried
i am on the mississippi flyway.. always worried when the migrants come through.. so far I had lice on one turkey that was napping under a tree when 8 billion black birds stopped for a rest.
