I have an untamed mulberry tree in the side back yard. I’ve been keeping an eye on it because its full of fruit but very few ripe ones.
Today I found out why.
There were 3-4 squirrels hanging upside down pulling ripe berries and stuffing their little faces! I knew birds ate them but I’ve never seen a squirrel do that. Probably running around with purple faces.
Mmmmm I love mulberries. So do my chickens. I pick the berries from the smaller of our trees, but the big tree too tall to reach the fruit without a ladder. Those ones ripen, fall, and get devoured by the flock. And yes they do get stained purple in the process

For me, it's apples, peaches and pears... Last year, squirrels won. Todd's been helping with that this year.

Oh yeah! Squirrels love mulberries lol! When more get ripe you'll have free chicken fruit. :)

Got the roost up, not physically demanding really but I was still sweating my butt off it is awful out there! Accuweather says it is 93 but feels 97 and it is humid and just gross. :caf

Henny, do you soak your beans overnight before you plant them?
You could even sprout the suckers in a damp paper towel that way you know who is good.
I got my errands done. :celebrate

Hot and gross here too.

I managed to stop at the greenhouse for a few plants.
I got a sugar baby watermelon, patty pan squash, Jack be little pumpkin, telegraph pole cucumbers, and new bean seeds. :fl That this stuff grows.
I will be in the garden at 6am tomorrow. :p

Normally no. This time I will do a pre sprout.
The purple pod beans I planted are all up so there should at least be those.

Bunnies have been eating my bean leaves off some of those. :hmm
