I know I talked about the tree coming down and the aftermath of that. Then I got more trees taken down for free but nothing is really free... Oh the load of work that is left!

I did a bunch of it today while I waited for the old fridge to be picked up....$50 for me for turning it in.

Where I stopped. You can see the large rounds stood on end from the previous picture.

Yeah cutting them down is easier than the clean up...at least you didn't have to cut them

You have been busy!! :th

Morning everyone.

Nunny,
Do you have a fireplace?
I look at that giant pile of wood you have there and thought (once cured) it would be great if you have a fireplace.

All that snow falling up north of us has me thinking I should take the rest of the garden out.
It's all pine. :barnieNo fireplace burning of any of it. Some of it is still live and gooey. Some is dead and dry. And still some more is so bug eaten you can tear it apart with your bare hands.

Goal for now is drag branches out back. Then sort logs where they are. I inherited a wood chipper with the house but all I've done with it is move it from the coop to the garage. Not sure if it will ever run. I looked into renting a big time chipper but it's not cheap and still a ton if work.

Maybe I'll put a sign in the yard. "Free Useless Pine Wood. Take as much as you want!"

Maybe as garden bed edging, stumps for chickens to hop on in the run?
Why can't people plant useful trees? :barnie

This house came with 2 ash, 1 pine, and a honey locust. I don't like any of them.
The pine has been removed. The locust drops sticky carp on the cars in the spring and tiny leaves in the fall. Oh and random branches.
It is not a pretty tree.....ever.

Will you be planting new trees....maybe not near power lines?
Autumn blaze maple are pretty. :p
