So Clayton still had live bugs on him this morning. He got eggs for breakfast and then a bath and blow dry. Next a dunk in Elector PSP.
He got too cold while I worked on dipping everyone else so with a handful of birds left I came in to blow dry and snuggle Clayton. I only found mites and eggs on 2 birds! The few that are left to be treated are hard to catch and I didn't want to take the time while Clayton needed me.

So Clayton and I are snuggled on the couch wrapped up in a heating pad. It's still touch and go I'm sure but I'm doing everything I can.

Well guys, I think I have confirmation on what killed all my birds. A neighbor two doors down just lost her entire flock of 25. But this time she caught the culprits: a pair of German Shepards. They went into her run through a weak spot in the roof, slaughtered the birds, then couldn’t get out.

I didn’t consider entry from above amidst all the structural damage to my run walls. But the dogs might have been able to get into my run that way. The damage to the walls could have been them breaking out from inside afterwards. My poor birds never stood a chance :hit

I'm so sorry. At least you know and can look for the dog owners. It won't bring your babies back but they should pay for damages to repair your and your neighbors set ups.

Owners have been identified. The dogs were voluntarily surrendered to animal control and will not be back. That is enough for me. I want to put this whole tragedy behind me. But our neighbor lost some valuable birds and I really hope she is able to get compensation.
