Official Squatch Watchers

Y'all.....neglecting my front flowerbeds has definitely done me no favors. :th

I DO have a valid reason if that counts.
Y'all know I have a neighbor diagonally across the street that is a true taterhead. Since hubs has been on call nonstop for 5 weeks I have had no one home making me reluctant to spend ANY time out front.....because of said taterhead and harassment.
Today while the concrete guys were here I took the opportunity to get it cleaned up as much as possible. I filled the 96 gallon yard waste can with battle bind weed and tiny tree sprouts. It looks much better but certainly is not fully done.

Tomorrow the concrete guys will come finish up......then I get to "fix" my grass on the east side of the driveway.

Side note......I turned MTV on cause they said old music videos would be on. Yeah red hot chili peppers put some weird ones out. 🤭

Henny, my garden is the definition of neglect. but I too have an excuse. none-the-less, this weekend, I'm gonna get out there and do what I can. I also suspect I'm going to be canning overripe dill pickle slices. Likely, I'll have to buy tomatoes to can this year. and I have squash that are huge! as well as a ton of beans, lettuce that's gone to seed... And my tomatoes are just sticks as the horn worms have declared victory.

:hugs Super sorry about the tomatoes. Mine got blight so not good here either.

I haven't looked to close at the veggie patch just yet.....if I can find it through the weeds.
I know it is bad so I am running the sprinkler in hopes of softening the ground so I can pull those.
That is on the list for this evening and tomorrow morning. I suspect there may be beans in there......somewhere.

There are no reasonably priced tomatoes here to buy for canning. The farmers markets....if one can call them that....are all full of homemade soaps, over ripe veggies that cost twice what the grocery stores do and lots of craft crap. Seriously there will be 6-7 soap/craft booths for every veggie booth. Those veggies aren't even grown here by locals. They are trucked in from Mexico.

Sorry that got ranty there. :hmm

Good morning everyone. Just waking up here....m.u.s.t find coffee....

Lots to do here of course.

I want to thank everyone that sent me rain! We have had small sprinkings in the evenings and one good 30 minute downpour. It certainly has helped my plants.
You're welcome! We have too much anyway!

Started my day with massive clean up. Sick doggo in a path about 4 ft long through the kitchen. Back end sick.... and did I mention that my kitchen is the only room in the house with carpet. 🤮
I then went into the basement and found honey all over the floor. I have a decrystalizer, basically a hot cabinet to keep the honey flowing. Apparently the gate (where the honey comes out) on the bucket was leaking. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Xs 2 on your farmers market rant! Not really local here, they changed the rules to just about anywhere in AZ for the Prescott Farmers Market, it seems. Hard to have local food in the mountains, but there are close-by places that are being developed into subdivisions of houses, truly sad. I am building up a nice stock of chicken compost, next year I WILL (try to) have tomatoes, even if I have to build a greenhouse! :fl
