I looked it up, it takes about 25 hours to develop an egg, most of it spent on producing the shell.

Most of mine lay in the morning but I have a few that lay mid day and some just before dark

I'm back, didn't have to go to walmart the feed store had everything. Chicks are already out. I fought the urge, it was really hard! Little baby polish and bantam silkies are just pinchable. Place normally dosent have such fancy breeds,old fella is embracing the chicken trendies. He said he would take any extra boys I hatched because someone would be dumb enough to buy them lol! He's in his 70's, and an absolute trip to talk to.

Suzi has lots of adorable fluffiness! Is Daisy a frizzle bantam cochin? Very pretty!

Eggs... We are up to about 12 hours of daylight and I'm getting lots of eggs now. Seems like each day, I get at least one more egg out of each pen. And mine lay throughout the day too.

Yeah, I hear my coffee is done. Thank goodness....

Hello all,

I may be a bit absent over the next 5 days. We are going and visiting friends in PA, DE, and MD this weekend because I have to go into my work site on Tuesday in the DC metro area. I’m just glad that the Milk Drinker is good in the car. The only time he really isn’t good is when the sun starts going down and he can’t see. Then he gets upset. He loves his little Moo-horse toy. We can’t decide what the toy is supposed to really be. It has the head of a horse, but has horns and a tasseled tail like a cow. So we call it Moo-horse.
