Official Squatch Watchers

Good morning,im not dead just been working my tater off. @pitbullmomma ,girl you got a Negan too? That name curses you to have a big ole baby chicken. Trying to figure out Early's sex, so far I don't even know. Beavis and Cookie are easy Early is a WTF. I will try to do some pics later and show whats going on with the weirdo.

Erm.... See, that's the main issue... The eggs themselves. I've been talking with a lady on craigslist who lives two hours away. The problem with that is that I can't drive, and all of the driving peeps I know can't go that far because... It's four hours of driving :P There's a good priced set of eggs on Ebay, but I'd prefer not to ship.

Ask around on your state thread if there are any breeders closer to you?

:frow Coffee and water are going. There's a quiche in the oven staying warm, don't worry, oven is off. There are stir fried veggies and scrambled eggs for breakfast fajitas, apple cinnamon oatmeal in one slow cooker, and caramelized peaches in the other. There are also gluten and dairy free crepes, perfect for the peaches, and you can see how they work for the breakfast fajita. I didn't make them quite as sweet, so I set out some powdered sugar for those who feel their blood sugar is not quite up high enough.

Had a good delivery of insects this time around. 500 superworms, no looses, 500 large crickets, 10 dead on arrival, though the chickens couldn't care less, they still tasted delicious from the speed they were gobbled up. That means that we will have live food for the chickens and frog for a couple weeks, and I won't have to worry about running out of crickets as quickly. I hate getting shipments with large losses because die off on the rest is a lot faster. Large losses also means that the chickens get a lot of crickets for the first 3 days, and then it dwindles down to where they don't get any, basically feast then famine, repeatedly over the winter. I try to make sure they only get 10 superworms and 10 crickets per day, which is what I figure would be their normal catch of they were outdoor birds. I've also let the kids know that I am the only one who should give them their scratch grains, but that they can give the dehydrated mealworms. I want to limit the scratch grains so we don't have an issue with fatty liver disease, especially since they are living a decidedly alternate lifestyle.

Today's adventure, go to feed store, look at baby chicks, come home with layer feed while leaving all fluffy butts from the feed store at the feed store. I also need to pick some stuff up for kids and dinner. Outside of that, I have some stuff to do on the computer, and the rest of the day I plan on doing a little as possible.

:hugs:hugs:hugs:love:love:love for everyone. TGIF, and enjoy. :frow
Impressive!

Luckily quail eggs hatch better after shipping than chicken eggs!

10 cream legbar eggs :loveDH is picking them up for me while I am at work. Initially he was not very excited about driving out to a farm on his day off but he quickly changed his mind and decided it was the best option. Apparently he thinks I can’t be trusted at a poultry farm  And he is right.

What are you getting WV???

Mine are still a slight mystery. :pop
Bantam cochins, and maybe some white bantam ameraucanas :drool if she threw some in. And probably some Seramas. I'm being a guinea pig tester for a friend that wanted to ship some eggs my direction. Oh darn. :gig

But see, I have one single lone turkey egg that will need some friends to hatch with anyway, so that makes it ok, right? :D

Aww, thanks! I like you too!

Here’s a different type of pick-me-up. He has his bunny and dual plastic cup handle anklets. And the harness helps us keep his shirt on.
