Thanks for the hugs guys.

I know I cannot keep them alive forever.
Sandy was 4 years old.
I have several more that age. I am going to finish the round of corid for everyone I still have.

Mornings like this make me wonder if it's even worth it to keep any.

Such a depressing day as it is also cold and snowing.

I'm sorry, I wish I could send some of the sunshine we have here your way.

I lost that chick that I hatched this week that had umbilical issues. It seemed fine last night, but it was dead this morning. I'm kicking myself because I think it was because the humidity was too low in the last 3 days before hatching.

I have those moments too. Wondering if it’s really worth the heartache. Then I go collect eggs and look at their fluff and I remember it is. They bring me such joy on a daily basis I can handle some sadness as the trade off.

:hugs I'm sorry Henny and Rae.

We keep rats, and their average life span is 2 1/2 to 5 years. We've had rats for the past 11 or 12 years, and it's been more than worth it, even though we've lost more than I can count. I miss each and every one, but they have so much personality and bring so much joy that I can't imagine life without them. It's the same with all of our animals, even the accidental ones.
