Official Squatch Watchers

I'm so sorry. Unplug the internet?

It's ok. He closed out of it.
Of course every puppy he showed me would grow to 80 pounds minimum.

Although the little rottie........she is adorable!
:love:love

I think we are good for now on puppies lol.

My mom keeps looking for animals. Goats, dogs... it's like No. No more pets. Stop. One day she found someone on craigslist who had 2 small dogs and was going to go get BOTH of them! Luckily it turned out to be some kind of scam. Like the poodle the have is morbidly obese and they don't even do anything with it, but yeah... you need 2 more dogs.

I just don't want MORE poo to pick up! That and no way will I pay a grand for a doggie. Now for medical care of a doggie been there done that and would pay it again. Just not for the purchase of a doggie.

If it's a good rooster, then yeah... a good home. If someone wanted to eat Odin, just don't tell me about it. Seriously.. just lie to me & if I contact you about him tell me he died & spare me the details (or tell me you found him dead one morning).
LOL I feel bad if I get an animal to eat that someone said 'not for eating' Nope not taking them.. not lying.. now if I take a roo for breeding and he doesn't work out, that is different

Wow. I hope you find the missing bird. Maybe she's just hiding from the storm. I think I'm in OH so I think the storms we got last night are the ones you had earlier in the day. I wonder if that means we'll get more here throughout the day. I'm ok w/ it... I awoke to a beautiful 65* non humid morning. It is amazing. I feels a bit like fall right now.
thanks , sigh so far no poult .. we have the same weather this morning.. heavenly :celebrate

Question... do I really need to keep the chicklets on starter/ grower feed until 8 weeks? Is there really any benefit to that over the meatbird or flock raiser feed? I know they can't have layer feed until they actually start laying. I didn't get layer feed the last time I bought some b/c I knew the babies would be out w everyone else soon though I'm certain they're eating some off the floor. It was a mix of feather fixer pellets and I think flock raiser crumbles.. should I feed everyone the chick starter/ grower?
I feed everyone the starter/grower.. has extra vit, minerals and protein that chicks need and will not hurt the adults .. I only feed layer to a pen w/just laying hens.. but lots of people feed layer to roos too.

Lol. I’ll give you my number.
Let me have a chat with him. :gig:gig
We are six months in.
Just now starting to see the light.
I can now sit for up to five minutes at a time without having to jump up.
And I’m allowed to sleep in again (:lau) from 11pm til 5:30 am! :celebrate:th

@apryl29 I don’t think my Momma is ever going to let her babies go. LOL Hopfully it will keep her from going broody for a while! Pretty sure she laid an egg yesterday.

Sugars eye looks the same. I’m still going to monitor.

I’m super grossed out— the run is growing algae—on the ground! WTF!?! It’s rained so much and then been so sunny. Eeewwww

I’m currently feeding chick crumbles to everyone with smaller higher up feeders filled with feather fixer. I’m going to switch everyone to feather fixer again once the chick food is gone. They throw the crumbles everywhere!

I need to try something (anything) to calm my jerk. I can see the headline “Woman tells police she was buying marijuana for angry rooster.”

So woman, when you find a drink you like too much, you gotta share the recipe. :p

OK, so a Pimm's Cup has Pimm's (which is a gin-based liqueur infused with herbs and fruits, I believe) and lemonade--or 7 Up--and cucumber slices. While I was in NOLA, I had it all different ways, sometimes with the addition of ginger beer. But the constant was always Pimm's, and cucumber slices.

It's incredibly refreshing! The heat and humidity down there is ridiculous, akin to Key West. So you need to hydrate, always. And drink refreshing, light drinks (I did not try a single Hurricane while I was down there).

How I make it (I don't use measurements when I cook/bartend, just keep tasting till it's right, ha!):

A good shot of Pimm's (plus or minus some white rum)
Club soda
A bunch of fresh mint
Thin slices of cucumbers
Limes
Simple syrup (I like to make mine infused with mint from my garden)
Lots of ice

First I muddle some of the cucumbers and mint in the simple syrup, squirt some lime juice in there too, and use that as a base to flavor it. Then I just keep mixin' till it tastes right. :)

That's it! Enjoy!:wee

Part of me wonders if it is an attempt to derail my gypsie wagon planning. :hmm

Um no that's not going to work. I want the Bitty house as garden storage/potting shed. I want that group of birds to have a run that is NOT on the north side......etc etc etc.

It's been so hot here (today it's raining, finally).

What my chooks go crazy for:

They LOVE cranberries. I had a bag left over from Thanksgiving. So when it's really hot, I fill up a shallow tub with cold water and throw some frozen cranberries in there. They go nuts, like bobbing for apples. They play Keep Away with it, chase each other around, ingest a lot of cool water.

Yesterday I made ice cubes with tree frozen cranberries in each cell, and chucked those in the water. They get a good amount of hydration trying to get to those suckers, and it's pretty as well!

I think my flock is glad to have me back. :)
