It's probably too late, but you can make peach honey from the skins. It is sooooo good, but set's pretty hard. I have to take a little out of the jar and warm it up so it will spread on toast.

Not to late at all. I still have lots of peaches to process! There are still about 70 on the one tree and 100+ on the broken ones remaining section.

A bit green yet but hanging in there.

And a giant :woot for Friday!

My son had a spell of colic because the milk came out too forcefully from the "faucets."He had to gulp so fast to keep from drowning that he swallowed too much air. I had to call La Leche to find out - let it flow someplace till it slows down, then nurse. What did I know?
When he was nursing off one, the other was shooting to the ceiling like a fountain. Just one surprise after another. Family thought I was nuts-nursing - my mom especially
because she couldn't take over and give him a bottle. She also fought with me over the name I had chosen. She kept calling him something else- big fight over that too. I told her she had 3 kids and picked their names. I was not thrilled with mine. Our family communicated by arguing. I told her he was MY son, and I named him.

Smart kid, when he started talking in earnest, he said "I have two mothers. Grandma tries to be my mother too!" The only part she liked was that she got a grandson. My sister had two daughters.
Wow. We could be long lost sisters. And I’m pretty sure that was my motherinlaw you were describing.

What are muscadine? I like new and interesting things!
LOL now I feel silly. I looked it up. It's a variety of GRAPES! :gig
I don't know much bout grapes it appears. :lau

I miss goose berries. They make an interesting tart jelly. Man I don't miss the thorns though.
:th

I had to reduce the amount of sugar the recipe called for. It would have been way to sweet.
That made it not set like jam but good golly it tastes very peachy and summer like.

It's so worth it RJ! Get some of those yummy peaches!

Side note.....
I talked to my bee keeping neighbor about the tree spraying. He said if he had been told he could have kept his bees closed in too. He lost a colony this last winter too and is down to 2 now.
I think he is ok until they spray the trees in the back yard. Where his hives are the drift/overspray would hit the hives directly.

If you like your bee neighbor and think he would like an Ohio bee ally I’ll talk to my bee friend.
