Chad is doing good. He's always coming over to the end of the cage closest to where I am to see what I'm doing, and gets irritated with me when I go through his food to take it the stuff I know he doesn't eat. He is cool with everything until I put my hand in the cage to pet him, then he acts like I'm the devil and tries, as sad as it ends up being, to rip the skin off my hand. It's comical cuz he looks like a sad version of a dog shaking it's toy or whatever rodent it caught. He knows it doesn't work, but he has to do it anyway. Once I pick him up he stops and is chill. He's also getting the iridescent feathers in on his head and neck, purple and green.

Looking good, going to put in windows for light?
I have them. Didn’t pay attention and they are sideways sliders....duh. I framed them in to use them vertically. Not sure if I want to do that or look for windows in the right size and orientation. It will wait till spring either way. Just want to get the birds moved.

The reason I chose to go with this breed is it will take them about 1 year to grow out to slaughter weight, which is only about 150-200lbs. They are more of a "pet pig" size. The best part is, that these people are about 40 min away and they are one of the only breeders of registered American Guinea Hogs in WV. She had to go to MD, KY, TN and GA for her breeding stock. If we like these pigs, we'll probably get a couple more barrows and a young pair from them. About this time next year.
I had them and ended up selling them to a guy that wanted to use them for breeding, in TN.

You would be shocked!
I have to college girls and they work 5 days a week from 8:30 to 4 and 6 to 8 homes a day and still behind. My hire a new crew soon. Not too mention I’m behind in my remodeling company as well. I can’t keep up. I’m having to sub jobs out just so I don’t get buried
Hey! Remember to count your blessings. Too much work is better than not enough. :hugs:highfive:

Rae, you might want to consider a couple of hot wires inside the fence at 6 and 12 inches. I still haven't found a good solution, as the adults plop their butt on the wire and break it and the kids put their nose under the fence and lift it up and take off. Without adults, the hot wire should prevent escapes.
