I can say there is one big positive to having a small layer, the egg happens very fast.
Rene was already shuffling around picking a nest when I opened the coop and by the time everyone was out she was done.
Maybe she's fast, maybe the call of breakfast was strong I don't know.
One thing I do know, she "percolates" like the rooster while she's adjusting the nest. She's the only hen that makes that noise, but Negan took that bunch of chicks over so it makes sense. I shudder to think what else they've picked up from him. :)

Ew, I need to find out how to make sure mine isn't ever there.
