I always liked giant brahmas and I thought Pat would like a bigger girl. LOL

My plan is order chicks... 10-12 before I get them leave a nest of golf balls for the broody queen. If she isn't broody already maybe she will change her mind.

I adore my big ole Brahmas. They are really truly gentle giants.

I’m so glad it is warming up tomorrow. It is frickin freezing in this old farmhouse. A door to a space we didn’t need to heat was left open and the temp in the upstairs dropped a good deal. It is so cold that Thing 1 didn’t want to go to bed. He kept getting up and asking to “cuddle Mommy”. I then figured out that he was cold. He has fleece feety pajamas on, so I couldn’t dress him much warmer. So I took the heating pad that I keep in my work chair and put it under the sheet in his crib so he couldn’t get to it. I have it on low (setting 1 of 6)with the auto off set. @staceyj, you’ll be happy to know I secured the cord out of his reach as well. I know you aren’t supposed to sleep on them, but I’ve slept on this heating pad with it up on higher settings (with auto off set) before and didn’t have any issues with it hurting me, so I think the boy will be alright. I know trying to get to sleep when you are cold is miserable and ya gotta do what you gotta do. Poor guy went right to sleep once he got warmed up.
 
Poor guy. You did good Rae, you know yourself you just about can't sleep if you're cold.
