I have noticed that many do not think that activities need to be adjusted for weather-- going to the mt.s in deadly weather and etc.

This article caught my eye about hiking the subway trail in winter--freezing cold, snow storm coming, quick sand and being down in a 100ft. ravine hours away from help...Oh My!

Cold weather makes it more dangerous to do anything outside. When I walk next door to visit my parents, one of parents always walk back with me and the boy. The reason is that if something happens, someone needs to stay with the boy or take him and get help. My parents will walk back by themselves because they know my other parent knows they should be back within 5-10 min and can come looking if they don't turn up.

Even if it isn't all that cold, I throw extra cold weather gear in the car (insulated pants, gloves) just in case of a break down. We also keep a box of blankets in the car and changes of clothes as well. It's come in handy more than a few times.

Nice plan for cold weather!

Ha that's good trap, I like it
I think nunny had that cardboard similar one
Digging a hole with a spoon... not happening here... pick ax is more like it.. even in summer
Hmmmm Maybe you could build more of a platform for it. It seems like it would work better than the ramp/ raised bucket thing b/c they're already down on the floor.. Reminds me of the lion traps from old movies. I'm thinking the can makes a difference though.. like they go up to it b/c they think there's something more there.
