Official Squatch Watchers

Good afternood! One of those days where it is semi raining, just enough to crap on outdoor plans so no finishing raking the run.
Is your tea kettle Lady Fartwhistle?
That is putting it nicely!:gig

Try taking a qtip to the flap. Either it's not getting a good seal or the hole is getting plugged. Unless you really don't like the pot, then toss it and get a new one.
.
Used one of those little dental brushes on it, seems to have helped a little.
I'm thinking it is just full of build up, i'm not really wanting to toss it until iv'e got no choice tea kettles aren't cheap lol!

My parents have a motorized one (that helps stand a person up) that my grandmother bought before she passed. It was intended for her, but was designed for someone much taller. I love it, it is so comfy. I might try to talk them into selling it to me because the motor would make it easier to get up and down with a newborn.
What a great help that would be!

That type of tea kettle can be cleaned with white vinegar

I'll give it a shot. I got some of it loose with the brush and baking soda. Push comes to shove I could mix them and make a cleaning volcano.:)
:gig It could be a tragic cleaning accident!

@staceyj I knew you'd appreciate this. Cooper loves to be near the chickens. He is the sweetest cat

I would try putting a vinegar and water mix in the kettle and setting it to boil. That should force vinegar through the port.

Yes! That is what I do.

Apparently you can't use vinegar in a Kerug though

I have a Keurig and I use vinegar in it. You just have to make sure you run clean water through several times to get the vinegar out of the hoses inside... otherwise you end up w/ vinegar coffee. They make a cleaning solution for them, but they're pretty much just vinegar.
